We stayed at Pan Pacific Beijing Hotel and enjoyed the restaurants of the mall on the sixth and seventh floor; so many to select. Joy City itself is located besides some other shopping centers and therefore you have excellent location to visit. All in all tens of shops with world famous brands guarantee there are interesting items available for every member of family. Highly recommended!

Now, I must preface this by saying that it is just like any other group of shopping malls but it is better for me because it's much closer to Qianmen station (where Tianamen Square is) so if you're around that area - this Joy City is the one for you! Also note, there are several Joy City's apparently.

You could spend so much time here. There are also several similar sized shopping malls surrounding Joy City so you can just hover from building to building.

There is a huge cinema in here and is worth checking out, if you're having a low-activity day. There are several restaurants in and around the place.

If you get off the subway at Xidan station, you're practically there! Just exit via the F1 gate and look for the glaring billboards and lights.

I went to Beijing in June 2017 on a business trip. The Xidan District in Beijing has many different shopping malls. Joy City is a nice vertical shopping mall with many shops and restaurants.

This was my favorite mall in Xidan shopping area because it had all of the stores my wife likes plus new stores that were different from other malls. What I liked most about it is how it is wide open. Often, shopping in Beijing involves small and tight spaces where there is not much room and here it is very open. It was warm outside and was packed but it was tolerable because of the air conditioning and it is spacious. There are Western restaurants and even a Dairy Queen. You add Dairy Queen and western restaurants and I can tolerate a few hours of shopping with my wife hahaha. It is very easy to find as well. Take the line 4 and get off at Xidan and then take exit F. Walk about 500 meters and you’re there.

This is a modern shopping mall, clean and with international brands. The top levels are all food outlets. Not a must go.

Very clean mall with good variety of shops. Muji & Uniqlo are also found here side by side. It is located in the financial district.

The Joy city mall itself is located in the Xidan district, one of the two go-to districts for shopping in Beijing. But here's the deal: Xidan is more of the "real" shopping place where (mostly) local teens go to hangout and buy their latest fashion clothings whereas Wangfujing is more of a tourist attraction and an overexerted effort to show the country's wealth in real estate---it is quite characterless and have little products of interests. Joy City is located centrally in Xidan and it is actually an arcade mall in contrast to all the other ones ex Xidan Shopping Center which are department stores. It is catered towards teens and middle income people as opposed to the flashy stores nextdoors. Forget the cinema, it is sucked as usual in China (old Hollywood movies, Chinese local movies) Be wary of the toilet as well, it is quite smelly and unclean, albeit the cleaner walking in and out all day. The fast food outlets leave a lot to be desired and comprise mostly of local Chinese brands and they're scatted in the basement and upper floors. ATM machines are scarce and there's no sign to show where they are and they are of the old models that won't accept your chip cards. Worthy of note is that one of the 5 official Apple Stores in Beijing is located in Joy City. The information people speak little English and depending on who's on duty at the time. One nice thing about Joy City is that it doesn't force people out and "slam" its doors shut the moment it's 10 PM like all the other places do, which is really surprising in Beijing--I discovered this as I was shopping in Uniqlo shop and found that it was after 10 PM and I could still try my clothes and the front doors are just left open for people to go in and out as pleased (I think Burger King was still serving as well) All in all a mixed bag experience in the Joy arcade mall, but a very different experience from all the other malls in Beijing.

Nothing much to add, recommended to stop by if you go to Xidan area. Located in Xidan Station (Line 1 and Line 4), with several bus stops around. Chinese and international brands (both clothing and food) are hosted here. Their cinema is also a good choice for weekend if you live in Beijing.

Xidan Joy City is just 3 stops from Wangfujing (line 1). After coming out from subway , walk 3 mins. International brands are here. Spend half a day here... From fashion to food to cafe... Nice place to relax
