“An oasis in burstling beijing”
Reviewed 26 February 2013

The location is good and it has nice quiet ambiance which is much welcome at the end of a busy work day. The room is spacious , very comfortable and well insulated from any sound from the outside or the room next door. The breakfast buffet has a very good selection of high quality international and Chinese food. The check in , check out procedure was smooth and quick while the staff are attentive and diligent in service delivery. Again, another very good stay with the Four Seasons group

The hotel is official opened in Nov 2012 and I stayed there in Feb 2013 for 3 nights. According to my observation, most of its guests were business travellers as the hotel is located near the CBD. It could be good for leisure travellers too as the two kind of guests have different pattern on hotel usage.

However, Maybe due to its luxurious standard, the staff seemed looking down on less properly dressed guests like myself. I used to dress down a bit when leisure travelling. A functional hard shell jacket to replace the woolen coat and a pair of outdoor boots instead of leather shoes. I knew it appeared different from the hotel's atmosphere but shouldn't the staff be treating its guests all the same? Why did I get neglected at the lounge when waiting to be seated for breakfast? Luxury hospitality shouldn't focus on what the guests wear but what they need, right?

Other than that, hardware of the hotel is just as good as other branches of the Four Seasons brand. Comfy and spacious room. Nice pick of art pieces too.

Dear SinyingN,

Thank you for leaving your valuable comment further to your recent stay with us!

We were delighted to read your positive review on the consistency of the hotel hardware compared to other hotels under the Four Seasons brand, as well as the choice of art displays in our hotel.

I am very sorry to learn of the unpleasant experience you had at the Opus Lounge. My team and I strive very hard to provide the best possible experience for our guests, as this is an important component of the Four Seasons culture. I can assure you that your valuable opinion will be shared among our employees.

We hope very much to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel. Have a lovely week ahead!

Sincerely,

Sanjiv Hulugalle

Having chosen not to travel during Chinese New Year my friend and I decided that we would stay at the recently opened Four Seasons Hotel in Beijing and try out their Spa facilities. We only stayed one night but what a lovely time we had. The rooms were very comfortable, especially the pillows and the bath products a delight. The Spa facilities were excellent. The swimming pool was just the correct temperature. The steam room , sauna and whirlpool all very clean and great to use. The massages that we had, although slightly more expensive than ones that you can have locally were sheer heaven. Breakfast was ok, a lot of choice if you are Chinese. I was a little disappointed that if I would have liked eggs for my breakfast I would have to pay extra.
All the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Very convenient location, close to the subway.
Overall, a fantastic short break, can not wait to treat myself again. I just wish the Italian restaurant had been open, I had been looking forward to eating there.

Despite temperature of -15 outside, they managed to keep the interior above 26C. The temperature control in the room is useless. Hard sleep. Shower was poor.. Not much water pressure and shower head looked like it came from the old days. Otherwise, I would consider the room to be an average Four Seasons room. ... i.e. Pretty good. Breakfast was very good and the staff are trying but still needs more training. The spa needs some rearrangement. Mouth wash, shaving stuff, hair dryer were nicely placed on a nice working counter ... but a sink is no where nearby!

Thank you for staying with us and for your valuable comments. We have solve the water pressure and showerhead problem and looking into the AC now. Winter in Beijing is extremely dry, so we have prepared a humidifier and placed it in the guest room to ensure a comfortable stay. We appreciate your feedback on the amenities display in Spa; we will adjust it accordingly to make it more user friendly.

Looking forward to welcome you back to the hotel.

Very friendly staff and lots of them, more staff than guests I would say. Only ate breakfast and this was a smallish buffet, Location was ok ish , depends a lot on where and whom you are visiting, certianly lived up to the four seasons reputation.
