If you wanna grab a fast ice-cream from Godiva then it's probably a great deal, even the rest of their menu seems very yummy, I took a cream, ice-cream, speculos, chocolate and espresso thingie, I cannot complain about the taste as it was really really nice.
However the service is not the best, the staff seems to lack experience and I got served my dessert in a plastic glass! I don't mind paying what I paid (70 RMB) in an upscale place where the service is perfect, however in this case I felt that the high prices were not justified enough....
Stil for the taste it's a nice place to pass by.

It is fascinating to observe how a great international brand, with the highest standards of quality for their products can fail miserably in this specific coffee shop as far as service is concerned.
Bottom line: I was willing to spend no matter what in pralines, after being ignored, ostensibly ignored, by the not-busy personnel, for over 10 minutes I left the shop without buying anything.
I am making a point of not returning to Godiva, EVER.

Two weeks ago, Godiva was our case study for marketing strategy module seminar. I said to my group members that Godiva has opened several coffee shops in china , selling hot drinks and cakes. for a cup of hot chocolate or americano u should pay 9 pounds as the same price of a slice of chocolate cake. And the cafe is such a hit that its even not easy to get a table in the afternoon in weekends. Then my colleagues said "u Chinese people are crazy."

In the UK, for 9 pounds u get can a pack of Godiva cocoa powder to make more than twenty cups of hot chocolate. I myself is a big fan of Godiva chocolate but I'm not silly enough to be robbed in the coffee shop ... Considering the gap between the rich and poor is getting larger in China, and there is no caste system thing here, probably is paying more money for coffee just a show off behavior to manifest the social status? Interesting to think about it.

But then again, after visiting Godiva cafe for several times, I personally would like to recommend the lava cake and the chocolate martini . Heaven for chocolate lovers.
