Like the restaurant. Food was good. Peking duck was yummy. Went back twice. They will give you a queue number if the restaurant is crowed and you can sit and have a drink. Menu was enormous. Had a hard time deciding what we want. The first time we went, ordered 1/2 duck. Second time we went back ordered a whole duck. When you order a whole duck, the duck that is remaining after the Chef has sliced the yummy parts, they can make a soup or fry the remains for a nominal charge. 199 CNY for a whole duck. Highly recommend, though it's definitely considered not the cheapest restaurant around. Check out my pics of food and receipt.

My family and I wanted to have Peking Duck while in Beijing and chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews we saw on TA and our own research. We were not disappointed. We were there on a weekend night, so it was crowded (they do not take reservations for smaller groups), but were seated after a short wait. The duck was great, as were the dumplings. Highly recommend it to other travellers. Centrally located and not too far from the Donghuamen Night Market which is worth a visit.

My wife and I went there for dinner as it was the best recommended place for Peking duck on Trip advisor but unfortunetly it was a big miss. First we had to wait for 2h to get a table but it was chinese holidays so it was 1h of wait in other places anyway. Once seated, we order 1/2 peking duck with sides, the glazed king shrimp, fried rice and noodle old beijing style. The duck was tasteless, you can eat better ones in other places in beijing or even abroad. The shrimp was nicely fried but just covered with honey so you just get a taste of sweetness, no flavour. The noodle and the rice were OK but nothing special...

In conclusion, it's a tourist trap... stay away...

Our wonderful Private Tour Guide, Susan Liu Yun arranged for my wife and I to eat here and we were not disappointed! Susan arranged for us to eat in a private upstairs eating room with about 12 tables there and by doing that we jumped the queue, thanks Susan as we were tired and hungry!

We ordered Beijing Noodles, a half Beijing duck with condiments, sauce and pancakes and honey glazed king prawns. The duck was brought out and carved for us and our waiter then showed us to dip the skin in sugar which is a delicious combination we've never tried before. He then demonstrated how to make the duck pancake with different condiments. The duck was to die for and the prawns exceptional and noodles delicious.

The pricing is very cheap by Australian standards and the food was 1st class, as was the team who looked after us!
