“A very good coffee - little pricey”
Review of Cafe Confucius

When my wife and I visited Beijing we stayed in a little hotel near this coffee place and it just so happened that one day I walked by and thought "Julius Meinl coffee? - you are a long way from home".
The owners greeted us and made us feel very welcome in this little shop. The coffee was great, but all things considered it was overpriced by quite a bit (especially for the size of the coffee). Nevertheless, I enjoyed a good coffee and a nice piece of cake. My wife enjoyed some sort of soda/ice tea mixture that apparently was very good as well. The location is down the road of the Confucius Temple (and the Lama Temple) and it is definitely worth while stopping by.

Along the road near Confucius Temple with plenty of trees that made this place a breeze. Surrounded by hutong neighborhood and a great venue to hang out. Small cafe but chic. Outdoor tables are best to laze around and people watch! Coffee is good, bit pricey than normal. Worth a visit when you're in this area.

This place was recommended in a review but I've seen much better coffee places around. The waitress served me coffee with a belch, and I hadn't ordered or expected that.

Located next to the imperial academy (aka Confucius temple), south of the Yonghegong bar street, in a newly renovated and quiet hutong.

This is a nice quiet spot with not many people where you can take a break from your hutong walks, or just go and enjoy a book while sipping nice coffee (thank god they don't have background music or tv sets on). Though cheaply decorated, it still gives a vintage feel which matches well with its surroundings. When the days are warmer there are also outside seats.

Illy coffee and big cheesecake portions, all decently priced (coffee is still considered a luxury in Beijing).

If you're not allergic to them, there are also two lazy cats hanging around the cafe.
