How could anyone fail to be impressed by a stay at the T Hotel? As with other contributors to these reviews, we arrived with high expectations, but some doubts: what is a "training Hotel", and could it really attain the standards of service and comfort that others had described? After the warmest of welcomes and the ritual of being shown to our excellent room by two, very smart, young trainees, any remaining doubts were rapidly dispelled. The view of the ocean from the large picture window was surpassed only by the same view from the restaurant's open balcony as we took breakfast.
Some of the trainees may have lacked confidence and a few struggled with English but everyone tried so hard to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible, and they succeeded! (More than that, it was a real pleasure to engage with them in their training).
Pokfulam turned out to be the perfect location. Armed with our Octopus card, the A10 bus took us directly from the airport to the hotel whilst frequent local buses whisked us to Central or, in the opposite direction, to the calm of Stanley.
If you are searching for a hotel in Hong Kong, why would you look elsewhere?

Everyone loves a bargain and this Hotel has got it all at an incredibly low price.
It's a training school for Hospitality students so it offers 5 star facilities like beautiful rooms and stunning views of the South China Sea (if you are lucky enough to get an ocean view room). There is an in house, Western style restaurant (plus an Asian one) which offers fine dining and an extensive drinks menu. The meals are superb and the prices are very low, even for room service.
Reception staff are incredibly helpful and if they don't know the answer to your question, they will find out for you.
The bathrooms feature marble and have German, quality fittings. Look our for the sweet little rubber bath toys (we got a duck and a frog, all wrapped in cellophane), and there's every 'extra' imaginable.
The dish of hand made chocolates and cookies at 'turndown' is very delicious. All the latest technology is available in your room, plus a big TV in the bedroom and a small one above the bath. They even have a 'Pillow menu'.
Because the Hotel is located at the south of Hong Kong Island, you will have to use transport to get around, but it is very cheap. Taxis are readily available and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. If you arrive via the Airport, buy an 'Octopus' swipe card and take the number A10 bus from the terminal at the airport. Ask the bus driver to let you know when you get to the Hotel (Cooking School), which is on Pok Fu Lam Rd.You can use your Octopus card for everything from travel to purchases at many shops and you can load it up with however much you need (I suggest around HK$150). (Don't worry about overloading it with funds though, as you will get all that you don't spend back, plus the deposit when you hand it back in at the end of your holiday.)
Why are it's services offered at such a low cost? Because it's a Training school. This means that you will have to be patient with the students as they are learning their job and their English may not be as good as yours. They are very eager to please though and they have excellent teaching staff to help them. We can't wait to use the Hotel again on our next trip to Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an Ocean View and book well in advance.

Just loved this place, it could not be beaten for value & service.
We stayed 2 nights with a late 1/2 day charge checkout.
As others mentioned the evening menu is limited but food & presentation is excellent.
Breakfast is excellent with good range of healthy choices.
Location is good, bus 10 direct from the airport, near Aberdeen & Stanley. Numerous bus routes outside the facility travelling in both directions.
Supermarket & many restaurants across the pedestrian crossing then 3 minutes, walking distance
A short ferry ride to Lamma Island from Aberdeen to lovely fresh seafood restaurants.
Hotel provides free shuttles to Central (not used by us) plus other advice on trips, tours & relevant visitor information.
In room wi-fi is good & fast. The only thing missing IMO was a movie TV channel, amongst the primarily English news outlets.
T hotel is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for Ocean view when booking.

Thanks to all the reviews posted by everyone. My family of 4 had an enjoyable 3 days stay at the T Hotel.

I shall add on to the rest of the reviews so that future guests can consider this luxurious Hotel tucked away in a less populated part of HK.

In my opinion, this hotel is ideal for business travelers and family with young children.

1) Abundant of electrical points
You can easily spot 6 electrical points to charge your devices in the room. For families of 3 travellers (each with 2 electronic devices), there's no need to queue and charge or power up your equipment.

2) Electrical Point in the safe
Were there times you needed to leave your expensive new devices to charge in the room but felt unsure about safety and security while you're out? Think no more. This hotel impressed upon us because the in-room safe actually came with a built in power source to charge your devices. Keep a look out for the socket at the door of the safe.

3) Writing desk
Business travelers who are sharing a room will have ample space to work on. The modern looking oval shaped child friendly glass table can accommodate 2 users, with extended table perpendicular to the desk, this means you can work comfortably without having to leave your 2 equipment on the floor.

4) Central control system
There are 2 sophisticated controllers at both sides of the KING size bed. Guests are spoilt because they need not get up from their bed to switch on the lights/ control the temperature of the air con. Thinking of zzz longer but worried the swarm of students knock on your door? Just press the "do not disturb" sign and they will leave you alone. All these are possible with a touch of a button just beside the bed.

5) Electronic bathroom shade
T Hotel is ahead of the 5 stars hotel in so many ways. For family with young kids, parents can view the kids while soaking up in the bath tub/ enjoying the rain shower. Yes, both of us could shower at the same time since the bath room is designed for husband and wife to shower simultaneously. While you're worried you'll be exposing yourself to the entire PFL village while showering, simply turn on the shade and the magic glass turns opaque.

On the whole I do agree with the rest that this hotel deserves a 5 star because of the well appointed room, cool sea view at breakfast lounge with decent selection of food, little details that the management look (turn down service), getting cabs for our family timely and always serving us with a smile. Now, where in HK can you get that at this price?

Think no more can book this hotel right away!

Found the hotel through tripadvisor. Although I am tempted to let this remain one of Hong Kong's best-kept secrets, I feel obliged to add my praises to the many already heaped on the T Hotel. The staff are the most obliging, attentive and earnest I have come across. And no wonder, they are trainees on their final month of training before graduation. We met so many lovely people, and felt so pampered. It really made our one-week stay in Hong Kong special.

They have 30 rooms located on the one floor (6th floor) of the building, with the Chinese and Western restaurants on other floors. But the food was so good in the lounge that we didn't venture upstairs. The building may not be impressive from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The rooms are spacious and beautifully laid out, with every possible comfort and amenities you would expect of a 5-star hotel. Huge fluffy bath towels, good-sized bathroom, flat screen TV (also in the bathroom), well-stocked mini-bar, super-comfy bed and pillows, floor-to-ceiling windows, and fabulous views of the sea or hillside, depending on your room. Even the gym was well-equipped. Decor is modern and tasteful, and plenty of helpful advice for visitors to the city.

The location is a bit out the usual tourist route, but that just adds to the charm and tranquility. You get off at Pokfulam Village, if you're taking the public Citybus A10 from the airport. Highly recommended, as it takes you on a scenic route in comfort. Transport is not a problem, as the route is well-served by buses, mini-buses and taxis. There is no nearby MTR or train station but that does not matter, as it is a short hop into town - about 15 minutes, depending on traffic. An added bonus is the entrance to the Pokfulam country park is just across the road from the hotel. A brisk walk will take you to the Peak in about an hour, through the peaceful trail and past the reservoir. A nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Aberdeen, Ocean Park and Stanley are fairly close, as well, about 15-20 minutes by bus/taxi. The spanking-new Cyberport is within close range, which has a supermarket and cinema.

Visited with my 13-year-old daughter, who remarked that the T Hotel is better than all the 5-star hotels we had stayed at in our previous trips to Hong Kong. We love the beautiful lounge and views, and would hurry back for the lovely sunsets every evening. The food and drink served at the lounge was so good that we ate dinner in every night. Breakfast is included in the price. Overall, prices are reasonable, quality excellent. Even the mini-bar was decently priced.

A fantastic choice. Couldn't ask for more.
