This hotel was good value for money. Wasn't the worst hotel but I would pay a little extra next time and get a better hotel.

My wife stayed at the Kiberley 10 years ago or so, an found it had hardly changed... that would explain a lot.
However, please do not be out off by the "not so" good reviews.
In Honk Gong you will be hard pushed to find a decent hotel within a "cheaper" price bracket.
Ok, when you arrive in your room you will notice the hotel is in need of a makeover.
The hotel takes you back to the 80s, however there is something endeering about it.
Check in and out couldn't have been smoother, proffesional and curtious.
Even the internet was of good service down in the lobby for 3 quid an hour.
Our room was 1229, and to be fair, in Hing Kong you don't expect to get a "view".
Hong Kong must be one of the most overcrowded citys, so common sense prevails that the room itself is of relative size.
The sleep quality is good, despite the hard matress, and the bathroom is small but clean and all facilities worked well.
Remember, if you have any problems raise it with the hotel staff, they will be only too pleased to assist.
The three nights we stayed we benefited from the location. It is prime!
We found 30 quid for a taxi from Airport was cheap.
The MTR extemly reliable, and the Star Ferry is inly a twenty minute walk.
The only annoying part are the sales guys who try and sell you watches, suits etc., they can be on the verge of rudeness and some of them sem to wait for you to either enter the hotel or exit it...
PS: We highly recommend a visit to the Peninsula Hotel to try they full/whole sized Peking Duck at 50 quid. Please dress smart as it is a 5 star hotel and booking/reservation is a must!

Stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights, the hotel's best quality is its location, everything you need is a walk away, from shops, restaurants and MTR stations. Room size is typically Hongkong size, the staff were of great help, they were able to check us in early and agreed on a late check-out. The hotel is not new but well maintained and just right for a short stay specially if you just need a place to sleep and always on the go the whole day.

My husband and I stayed at the Kimberly hotel from 23 to 28 Dec 2011 for 5 nights - based on a friend's recommendation and also the value for money travel package we booked through Cathay Pacific Holidays. Reading the reviews here on tripadvisor.com, we arrived in Hong Kong with low expectations. Check-in was smooth, staff were a bit busy at the ground floor handling the large number of suitcases and guest enquiries. The hotel staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Upon arrival, I was relieved to find that the hotel room we got was okay and comfortable. We got upgraded to a Deluxe room as we were staying for more than 3 nights. The room is old, basic but there were several things we did notice:
- Shower head had limestone (?) deposits and the water flow and temperature was erratic.
- Room wasn't totally clean. There were stains and markings at corners but we can look past that.
- Bed was slightly smaller than a Queen size, a bit on the hard side too.

On our third night stay, we were charged for a mini-bar item we did not consume. We raised this issue to the hotel's reception and they resolved it quickly.

Other than that, we loved the location, the room had the basic amenities I expect from a 4 star hotel, and it was comforting to come back to the hotel after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. :) Its also near a Sushi Express outlet and a 24 hour convenience store which is awesome. We booked the Disneyland and Ocean Park tours through the hotel's tour agent Grey line which was informative, punctual and well-organised.

I still prefer the Prudential near Jordan MTR, and if we ever return to Hong Kong again we would stay at a different hotel, but I wouldn't mind coming back to Kimberly as well if the price is reasonable.

Room Tip: Request for a refurbished room. I was told the rooms on the 9th floor are refurbished but I'm no...

The hotel is close to shopping areas & restaurants, nearby the MRT. The room was small, but comfortable.

The staff at this hotel were pleasant and attentive. The hotel itself was clean and well organised, there is a couple of onsite restaurant bars that gave a 20% discount for guests but was still on the pricey side for drinks. Hence why there was little business done but they did have happy hour and specials.
There was a lot of tour/groups during our stay and the lobby was forever crowded, this was probably because the rooms were small.
The rooms contained a bed that looked smaller than a double bed, a tv, in some rooms a safe, and a tea making service behind the front door with mini bar, there was not enough room to put two cases without tripping over!
The negs of the room was that there was an extension lead and this was the only power point and the rooms were very small.
Wifi was only available in the lobby for 38hk per hour but it was rubbish, just two bars and SKYPE kept crashing.
As the rooms were small, families were having to use the landing area to wait why family members changed.
The location for this hotel is the big positive for this hotel with the excellent service from staff, it was a short walk from the metro and in touching distance of the shops.
