Great location for all the shopping and parks in Kowloon. The ferry terminal for China is in the basement of the hotel, which makes it very convenient if you are travelling through.
The staff are helpful and the concierge service is second to none.

The standard rooms are small, but comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. There is often street noise and I had a couple of disturbed nights, but no more than I usually would in a new city.

The breakfast is well worth the additional amount with both an egg and noodle station.
There are a couple of restaurants in the hotel that are reaonable, but no bar area to sit and just chill.

The Royal Pacific is in a great location and surprisingly happens to be one of the more reasonable places to stay in Kowloon. Whether the primary reason for your visit is Hong Kong or you just need a night's stay here after or before a flight from Hong Kong International Airport or a ferry to mainland China or Macau, The Royal Pacific is just about a perfect choice. I most recently stayed here in March 2012 for business on two separate nights (before and after transiting to Zhuhai by ferry).

Service (5 stars):

Front desk staff is efficient, friendly, and fluent enough in English. They were very helpful answering questions about the local area and how to purchase ferry tickets. Since both of my stays were one night each, I didn't get to experience any of the other staff.

Value (5 stars):

Taking into account the optimal location and the fact that it is in a major international metropolis, value is off the charts as it is usually one of the most reasonably-priced "Western" hotels in Kowloon.

Sleep Quality (4 stars):

I guess it's kind of hard to judge fairly here as I stayed here immediately following a 16-hour flight from Chicago and then stayed here my last night for only a few hours after partying in some of the local watering holes. :-)

Cleanliness (5 stars):

I don't recall anything unclean about this hotel.

Location (5+ stars!):

There are no fewer than three major reasons why this hotel gets 5+ stars for location: 1) The hotel is within walking distance (although you may want to use the shuttle bus if you have a lot of luggage) from the Kowloon airport express station, 2) The "China" ferry terminal (where you can catch ferries to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Macau, Zhongshan, etc.) and shopping mall is immediately below this hotel, and 3) The surrounding area in Kowloon is a really happening place with lots of sights to see and places to get food/drink.

Rooms (4 stars):

I stayed in the "Tower" wing at the beginning of my trip and then stayed in the "Hotel" wing at the end of my trip. The "Tower" wing room was larger and nicer (5 stars). The "Hotel" wing room was smaller and noticeably older (3 stars), but to be fair is still sufficient for the value.

More information/tips:

- There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is really busy, even late at night, and I felt relatively safe walking around.

- As I mentioned, the Kowloon airport express station is definitely within reasonable walking distance but it took a while to orient myself. If you're just arriving and/or have a lot of luggage, there is a hotel shuttle bus from the Kowloon airport express station (which I think might even be free?) that should stop at The Royal Pacific. It might be worth it to take the shuttle back to the station, too, as I found it to be a challenge to actually find the Kowloon airport express station in that complex of buildings (which happens to include what currently is the 5th tallest building in the world).

- For coffee drinkers, the shopping mall below the hotel has a Starbucks in case you need a pick-me-up. :-)

If you need a place to stay in Kowloon, and especially if you will either be using the airport express train or the "China" ferry terminal. I highly recommend The Royal Pacific.

Room tip: "Tower" wing rooms (5 stars) are nicer than "Hotel" wing rooms (3 stars).

This is one of the best places I have stayed in China (or Hong Kong in this case). The rooms are very westernized and therefore the quaility is better. I had my best night sleep at the Royal Pacific.

Hotel is located in Kowloon TST across the water from HK island, roughly a 30 min taxi ride from the international airport (figure HK$260). It sits astride a major shipping mall with all imaginable requirements for the traveler and is on the waterfront providing access to a beautiful promenade and botanical garden (Kowloon Park.)

We arrived 5 hrs before checkin and had the breakfast buffet at the downstairs Cafe - it was outstanding and included in our room rate. The staff at the front desk juggled room to get us in well before checkin - much appreciated after 24 hrs of travel.

Excellent fitness center as well.
