If your answer is food, well, you go to a right place but i can’t say ‘WOW’! A bit pricey, if I were the owner, I do the same! Please bear in mind , do not expect any customer services, even when you pay your bill! So just keep your eyes on the food, that’s all.

I eat at Sheng Kee Congee daily when I visit HK as I am a regular customer of The Cityview Hotel which is right opposite the restaurant. The prices and portion for all porridges are reasonable and porridges have lot of varieties, most important the porridges are smooth and really tasty, will recommend to anyone staying nearby.

This review is for Sheng Kee outlet at HK international airport T2. Food in HK airport is generally more expensive than its counterpart in town area. This restaurant has marginally inflated the price menu while keeping good food quality. It's a nice option for those who prefer HK cafe style food. Seating isn't the best and you must be prepared to share table with other patrons.
Recommended for less marked up price for local food.

An entirely different culinary experience savouring mouth- watering congee in a non- descript shop that sits no more than 50 diners on a winter night. It is evident that the congee is a result of hours of rice simmered in wholesome stock. The final product is a smooth and tasty porridge with generous portions of meatballs. Finely julienned spring onions and ginger make a good complement to the dish. The almond tea lends a fine finish to a satisfying meal. Orders are taken in hand written thin old fashioned form. Could imagine the dining scene would probably be the same some thirty years back.

My stopover in Hong Kong was so satisfied after tasting the best congee at Sheng Kee. Due to jet lag, I was up at 4am Hong Kong time Sunday morning. Unfortunately, Sheng Kee close on every Sunday for prep work. The next morning, I got up at 6am, and walked down to Sheng Kee from Kennedy town. It was all worth it! I ordered a popular congee with fresh fish belly chunks. Awesome taste and reasonable price! I even learn how to eat congee by skimming from the edge of the bowl. This will definitely become my annual local delicacies must have in Hong Kong!
