Ammo is an interesting find in Admiralty, tucked well out of the way but well worth a visit.

The interior was designed by Joyce Wang, with all of the furniture being bespoke made by her and her team. Judicious use of copper with elegant lighting creates a perfect backdrop for the dining experience.

The food is very well prepared, is very reasonably priced considering both the market it is aimed at and the location. Dishes are beautifully presented and the portions were sufficient for a three course meal. There is a good choice of appetisers mains and desserts and the pasta dishes are well worth trying.

There is a good wine list and an excellent cocktail menu with some really interesting and very enjoyable concoctions!

Overall we spent HK$1400 on 2 three-course meals with a cocktail and glass of wine each.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you enjoy good food in interesting surroundings.

I visited AMMO for their Chope Chooseday promotion. Buy 1 get 1 free (mains only). I love the sea urchin angel hair and the crab ravioli. It is perfectly cooked! The downside is the mains were a bit disappointing.

When it first started some years back, booking of Ammo needs to be made weeks ahead at least. With the owner opening more outlets elsewhere in Hong Kong, under different brand names, it seems that the standard here has dropped. I had lunch set and my friends went a la carte. The soup was alright but no surprise. The main course for me was spaghetti with prawns. The spaghetti was well done and the sauce was mediocre. The prawns were of frozen to see-through variety. Fortunately, my friends said their angel hairs and fettuccine were good: not sure it was because I was hosting. Dessert was passable too. Overall not particularly striking.

Pluses: Quiet enough for business chats, and the tables were not that crowded.

A wonderful meal at a good price, i.e. not eye wateringly expensive given the proximity to very pricey Admiralty competitors. Delicious food with very sensible portions - allows you to enjoy three courses and not go home over full or bankrupt! Interior design very funky, service really good and food arrived very quickly after ordering. This is somewhere we will definitely go to again & a great spot for taking visitors for a special meal.

The interior design of AMMO is excellent, and i was also pleasantly surprised by the food too! Tucked up behind the hotels of Admiralty, this restaurant is a peaceful oasis where the food is wirth a return visit. The meatballs are delicys and the serving sizes are good for those who always find too much pasta is the norm these days. Will be back again
