The corner bar-seat at Le Jardin de Joel Robuchon is the ultimate power lunch. We had artichoke/salmon/tea which was exceptional. Chapeau to the chef.

What a fabulous experience from beginning to end! Firstly the communication by email to confirm our reservation and then the reminder was wonderful and very friendly which set the tone. Lunch was fabulous and just a joy to sit at the bench and watch these masters work! The service was very attentive, polite and outstanding. The food was simply wonderful! We had a fabulous experience and loved every minute ot it - thank you!

We recently dined at Le Jardin and had a nice meal. La Jardin a joint restaurant by Joel Robuchon sharing the same location and Michelin Three Stars as L'Atelier. Opening hours are 12-2.30pm (lunch) and 6.30-10.30pm (dinner) daily.

Basically, as you enter the restaurant, you first encounter the open kitchen format of L'Atelier. As you walk past you enter the seating section where La Jardin is situated. Menu is the same as L'Atelier and they share the same chef and kitchen. You are simply in a different and considerably more formal seating area, darkly lit environs and what seems like a separate and difference wait staff.

During our recent meal, we enjoyed our amuse bouche, starters, mains, desserts and wine just as much as if they were served at the L'Atelier seating area. The food was well prepared, beautiful and tasted every bit as expected. In this regards, food quality is outstanding when it comes to French cuisine and no different than what we have experienced numerous times in the L'Atelier section of the restaurant.

Where we were less pleased was with the service, which seemed understaffed, stretched and at times absent during our meal - something you don't expect of restaurants of this calibre. While we have always been impressed with the service in the L'Atelier restaurant section, we were puzzled at times at Le Jardin. Multiple times during the evening, diners had to raise their hands in order to find staff to serve them, us included.

We also experienced very long intervals between meal courses. For example, our mains arrived nearly 45 minutes after we finished our starters. This was an unreasonably long wait and had us wondering if they might have forgotten about us. A similarly long lapse occurred between asking for our cheque and it arriving at our table. In the end, this was a case of a 3.5 hour meal that should have been no more than 2 to 2.5 hours. The good news is that the company was great and we did very much enjoy the food served.

In the end, we'll probably stick with L'Atelier going forward, having had many very good dining experiences there in recent years.
