Had heard a lot about basque as it seems to be the new 'in place' in Jakarta. After my first (and certainly last visit for food) i have no idea why? are we really sheep that just like to follow no matter what.
This place is popular, so the restaurant works on 2 sittings, and although we arrived 10 minutes before our requested 9pm, we didn't get to sit at our table to 9.40pm (this was a Wednesday night so god knows what its like on weekends) and didn't start eating till just before 10pm.
As we had 40 mins at the bar until we were shown to our table so i'll deal with that first...Yep..its a nice bar, good music not too in your face, and our G&T's were spot on. I can see why the bar is popular as its got a nice feel to it, very nicely done.
OK, first impression of the restaurant was...damn..its crowded and unless you get one of the booths, i was sitting closer to the next table than my wife which was a bit off putting as out 'neighbours on either side had definitely been in the bar much longer than us and their volume meant it was hard for us to have a conversation. Next...its dark...i mean ..really very dark, so that you can see everyone using their flashlights on their phones..a little bit like a Bruno Mars concert. Service was ok, however what was served was really bad...the absolute highlight of the meal was the Ciabatta bread (which you have to order separately) which was excellent...which was lucky as we didn't eat too much of ur Tapas or mains. My Roast chicken was the most dry bird i've ever eaten, i'll never moan about Xmas turkey again...it was simply inedible. The tapas was just south of OK (= poor) but we could eat it...although we had no idea if what we were eating was what we ordered as it was just so dark. OHHH..did i mention the noise...no..not from our noisy neighbour tables, but from the music...as we started eating only at 9.50..at 10pm, they really crank it up...so forget a conversation with the person sitting across the table from you...eat up (or in my case leave it) and head back to the bar..or in our case..get the hell outta dodge.

Polite and helpful staffs. Modern tapas and good offers of extensive menu. It's not all out Spanish food except some tapas and paella but they are good. I saw some good spanish wines with quite reasonable price. Overall the lunch was quite expensive but worth the experience.

This is an excellent restaurant with a very good menu and beverage list. The tapas menu is a great opportunity to share plates with friends and family. The wine list is good and reasonably priced for Jakarta. Can highly recommend this restaurant.

I reserved a table for 8 at 9PM on friday night (24/3) and i had to wait for 15 minutes to get the table ready! The front staff firstly told us they were cleaning up the table, the second and third staffs we asked were saying they were processing bills for the previous customer. The front desk service was 'meh'. She was impolite and not smiley at all. The service wasnt that bad as the staff at our table was nice. At least he smiled when he serviced us. Found lipstick smudge on the champagne moet glass which is a BIG NO NO for f&b business! Asked the guy to change glass but not sure if he did or just wiped it clean. Overall, the place was okay but pricey. The music was nice though, inside felt like a club after midnight.
