I've been going in and out of Jakarta for the past 7 years and have stayed from the best to the worst. Jakarta itself is a love/hate relationship city with the manic traffic involvement and lovely people you came across everyday.
Stayed in Morrisey in late January 2012 and it is my first visit to this hotel. Location-wise is great as it is located in Jl Wahid Hasyim which is full of restaurants, cafes and waroeng for you to sample many of Indonesian unique cuisines. There is Circle K conveniences store which is 3 min walk, Paregu Shabu-Shabu Restaurant for a good steamboat. Nyonya Suharti on side of it and further down, is few local, cheap steakhouse that is superbly delicious. You can't go hungry if you stayed here. Plus, the wonderful Italian Ocha Bella (just beside the lobby) have a to die for pizzas and great list of drinks.
Room is nicely done, chic New York-style loft. Toilet is quiet small but manageable. Great pool and breakfast is simple yet fulfilling. Easy to holler a cab around here and staff are one of the best I have ever came across in this part of the world.
Thank you for Ms Lanny Gesang (the GM of Morrissey) in making my stay a memorable one. Definitely worth a shot!More
