Acacia Hotel is a favourite with Indonesian business people and families on holiday. As a foriegn traveller I found it great value, fantastic srvice and the best breakfast (included in price) which you are likely to find. A few improvements could be made; the rooms are a bit tired and the fitting are not perfect, the shower was not always hot, they muslim prayer loud speakers in the neighborhood are a bit loud but thats part of the Jakarta experience. In all it was great value and fantastic staff and can recomend for those who arent looking at perfection.

The Acacia hotel is a 10 minute cab ride from the Gambir train station, which makes this hotel a good HQ for exploring the vast city of Jakarta.

This hotel offers all comfort and luxury required, but is refreshingly different from the bigger international hotel chains. Acacia seems to draw mostly Indonesian tourists and is not so much focused on meeting western standards. Staff is friendly and assist you with any problems you might have. It has a 'personal touch to it' and after two days you recongnize and greet most of the staff. Downstairs is a nice Karaoke bar which is a bit spacious, given the number of visitors (8, at the time we visited). However, the band was great! No kidding.

The best reason to go to the Acacia is the price: Four/five star luxury (airconditioning/pool/minibar, etcetera) for youth hostel prices. An elaborate breakfast is included. In most cities you wouldn't be able to reserve a shared bunk room at a youth hostel for this room rate.

I spent time at this Hotel end of June for 3 days.
The hotel is nice, clean and friendly staff.
I take the smoking room and double bed.
Food is good compare the hotel i've been in Jakarta.
only thing i not really like is the cafe waitress sometimes ignore you because of many people.
My table is not ready and no spoon (happened twice), and no serviette on the table. I requested a tissue but they forgot to bring to me. End up, I left the table after bfast.
