We ordered filet mignon medium rare: it took forever to come and when it did, it was dry, chewy and well-done.

Also, we tried posing for pictures on their hammocks and sunbeds and were told that they were only reserved for guests of the hotel (it was 8 P:M. and there were the 3 of us from the Tamaraw and 2 others from the Sunset. Anyway, when you pay to eat at the restaurant, aren't you paying guests? What if I said I wanted to have my drink by the sunbed before dinner?!

Have stayed here before, had a great time, and my workplace has a long history of using this resort but was very disappointed this weekend. Despite being 80% empty, despite being known to the owner (at one table with her friends) and known to two of the three other families in the restaurant and invited to join them, Sunset would not allow us to spend money there!

We were a group of 8 adults and 7 kids looking for a couple of sundowner cocktails and some pizza for the kids. Sunset turned us away even though there was room for us and we said we would leave as soon as it got busy. "No ma'am" was the only answer.

I understand that they are totally within their rights to only serve houseguests but, as previous guests and friends of guests we felt that it was a bit off to refuse to let us stay for a snack. The place was not busy, the staff were sitting at the bar and we stated that we would be in and out within an hour but no joy.

It's a pity and it has put me off ever returning.

The restaurant at Sunset is not very good. You get food and there is nothing wrong, but also no finess at all. Still you sit beach front fantastic view so if you do not have an expectation on the meal, you still can have a nice lunch or dinner.

Most of the food is well above average. The views and the service is the best in Puerto Galera. The restaurant is for resort customer only and will usually on allow visitors if they are not busy.

I went expecting reasonable food and was very disappointed. It was a pity because the setting is wonderful and the staff do their best. Maybe the chef is temporary.
