Resort is truly value for money
Away from the crowds, but close to Puka beach
Transportation all day long to the beach and city centre
The only drawback is cuisine, too expensive and nothing special..
Would stay here again

Huge room, clean enough. The pool and the shuttle service are nice!! But the front desk officers were kind of lousy and not cheerful. The breakfast buffet is so so, best to come early for breakfast, some of the guest came in a little bit late, they only got porridge because food is not enough. But the great thing about this hotel is your unlimited shuttle from and to D'Mall and Puka Beach.

Room tip: Rooms near the front desk for easy access to shuttle

My family and I stayed at this hotel because we were going to attend a wedding in Shangri-La Boracay. The location is good if you want to get away from the rowdiness of the beachfront. They have a beautiful infinity pool and view. It’s also not as hot because we’re up in the mountain.

Food is super expensive, but there is complimentary breakfast.

However the biggest downer for me was a couple of chinese tour groups, at separate times, tried to get into our room because they were confused by the room number system of the hotel, and I’m assuming they don’t know how to read english.

There are several buildings (Hymettus, Illiniza, Galatea etc...) and each building is numbered in the same way so the first room in Hymettus building starts with 101 and so do the others. Even if the building name is engraved on the keys, they still get lost and try to enter because they only look at the number instead of both the building name AND number. One group even tried to enter our room at around 5 am.

Alta Vista should at least provide non-english speaking tourists a map to show where they should go or assign a few people to escort groups to their designated rooms. This was a nuisance and reduced the enjoyment of my stay here.

Resort is beautiful with nice pool and hill-top view. Rooms are not so beautiful. can be made more clean. far from city, so commuting to and from airport takes extra time. breakfast is not so great. Tasted bit old.
Infinit pool and view is great.

The place is bit far from Station 1/D'Mall (almost everything) but the hotel offers free roundtrip shuttle service with time intervals (better line up early). The room is spacious. The beds are comfy and big. It has kitchenette with minimal utensils and a personal ref. The place is like a low-rise condominium for me. It has infinity pool with mountain view that is visible from the reception area. They also have service going to Puka Beach and when you wanted to go back, just ask their representative on the beach so a shuttle can pick you up. The place is usually filled with Chinese (Yes, the place is owned by Chinese too! :)).

The staffs who accommodated us are very friendly (and they speak foreign languages e.g English, Mandarin). If you want a Boracay tour package, just ask their receptionist and they will assist you. Better pack snacks or anything to munch during your entire stay, since the place is a bit far from the market and food in their resto is a bit pricey.
