Check in fine, room bit of a let down from pics but you get what you pay for we stayed in a mixed 18 bed so bound to b some clashes of comings and goings. Toilets pretty gross, wet seats this because the shower and toilet are in the same cubicle... Weird but hey. Great if your looking for something basic and cheap, free breakfast - pretty standard white toast, jam, tea & coffee. Location is pretty good, not to far from the MRT! Also stayed in 14 bed which was a bit more spacious but better night sleep in the 18 bed!!

Stayed 2 nights and found this to be very clean with pleasant and helpful staff. Little inconvenient access wise as is around 10 minute walk to nearest MRT (Farrer Park) and slightly further from Lavender on airport line. Room was OK although slightly on small side. Maid downside was that there was only a combined tolilet / shower for the 4 rooms on the floor we were on so access may be an issue.

Stayed for a weekend and its pretty quiet.Don't expect to find backpackers mingling around because its more of a family/business type.Fernloft Chinatown will do better for backpackers but it wasn't an issue for us.It's a 4-storey building with an elevator so don't worry about heavy bags.Toilet & shower are on every floor and its not too bad. They provide hair dryer upon request and on every floor corridor is an iron+ironing board for your convenience.Everyday b'fast is bread+jam+margarine+coffee+tea. Not too worry as there's plenty of eatery just outside.10min walk to the MRT,its safe even at night and you could cut across CIty Sq.Mall or even grab a bite.Staff are attentive and best of all, they smile to you.

Room Tip: All rooms have no windows.

I arrived very late and just needed a place to stay, I forgot to reserve my arrival night at the original hostel I planned to stay at and had to go somewhere else for the night as they were booked. So I was looking for a place at 2:30am in the morning. I just walked down the street until I came to fernloft and I was lucky because they had staff at the front desk until 3:00am. The hostel seemed fine. The front desk staff were all very nice. The building was a bit old but everything seemed clean and fine. Breakfast was included in the price too. I am not sure how it would be to stay there for several nights, but if you need a place to shower and sleep it meets your expectations.

The guests beside my room were extremely NOISY and ANNOYING during midnight, they talked and laughed loud, moreover, they ran in and out along the corridor which is really irritating when they hit the floor and washing machine. The management should alert about this and warn they not to do that. Luckily, my second night at Fernloft, they moved out. The sleep quality was very bad for the first night at Fernloft. The second night is getting better.

Overall the service is so so, the distance to MRT also take 10 - 15 minutes. But the location of Fernloft is not as easy to be spotted as I thought. Other than the terrible neighbours, I'm satisfied with Fernloft.

Great hostel to stay! We book a double room, and it is located at the top floor. The room size is fine for two person, with only basic facilities such as cupboard and table. It is cool to get what we want with such a price in sg. The room is very clean and tidy, and it is quite at night. Bathroom is clean but a bit small.

The location of the hostel is quite nearby to Farrer Park station, and it is safe to walk at night too. Along the way to the hostel, you can find great food, and pub. The famous restaurant "scissor and cut curry rice is just nearby there, less than 5 minutes walk from the hostel! Have a try, it's great!

I'm staying there with 5 other friends in a 6-mixed bed room. Cathy, the branch manager is helpful and friendly. She replies every

The room is small but it's expected with such a price in Singapore, as long as it is tidy and clean. Bathroom is clean which i'm very particular in. Just 1 of the bathroom does not have toilet roll, even in the morning. The toilet roll should be refilled every morning. The corridor is a bit stinky, but I don't blame Fernloft for this. It is because of the stinky shoes of other tenant placing outside of their room.

The location is strategic, there is a lot of food nearby and the MRT station (Farrer Park) is jus few minutes walk away. With such a price and the facilities provided, i think this is an affordable place to stay. I would definitely come back!
