This hotel is clean, has a stylish lobby and free wifi, but most importantly is in an excellent location. We stayed in room 201 which had a large window and a private bathroom and was more spacious than I expected from reading the reviews. Yes, the room is small but I found the space was practical and tastefully done with fun colors on the walls. I have stayed in much smaller hotel rooms in Europe.
We checked out at noon but had an 01:30 flight early the next morning. We left our bags at the hotel and when we returned in the evening we at least had a comfortable lounge and access to wifi while waiting to leave for our flight -- we were even offered use of the bathroom with a shower on the second floor (some rooms have a shared bathroom).
If you are reasonable about your expectations and on a budget but location is a priority, I don't think you can do better than this place. We wrote the hotel directly to request a room with window and private bathroom and paid 160 S$.

Room Tip: Write the hotel directly to request a room with private bathroom and a window. We were in room 201 w...

We took a room with bathroom - it was not big, but OK. There was window, but there is nothing to look at though it.
There is no breakfast facilities in the hotel, but there are plenty of fast-foods and 7eleven convenience store on the South Bridge road
Location is good. 3-5 minutes walk from the MTR station and about 5 to 10 minutes walk to the Singapore river bank and Marina bay walkway.
They offer you laundry+drying for 10 SGD per package.
Staff is nice. On the day of checkout we had a late flight. We couldn't extend room usage because ti got to be occupied, but they kindly allowed us to take a public shower in the evening once we returned from full-day walk. They gave us 2 bars of soap and clean towels, no additional cost - very kind of them. Also you can leave your bags if you arrived early or leaving late - a common practice

Smallest rooms. toilett and shower are in the very same place, so you can't use the shower without setting toilett etc.
Minimal or lower than that things in rooms.
Bad attitude of stuff doesn't help...

We booked Le Hotel Carpenter Street from Agoda. Around US$86/night. Stayed for one night.
The hotel location is perfect. Nearby the Central Mall Singapore, Clarke Quay, and Chinatown. It wasn't too far from MRT as well. However due of rain and we brought toddler with us, we ended up with taxi everywhere.

The hotel is close to a very good Bakut Tea restaurant. So spend sometime to eat your breakfast there. Lots of food and clubs happening at Clarke Quay.

The hotel itself well...it is at Carpenter Street and easy to find. It looks new, it has nice paint both inside and outside the hotel room. It has elevator and it worked perfectly. It is a little tiny hotel. The receptionist unable to give us double bed so we ended up with single bed...well what one can said. Anyway we went up to the room and the size is seriously super tiny for superior. It's a tiny bedroom with a almost the same size bathroom :) so it is quite a funny situation. Both are in clean condition. But there's no cover for the blanket. So' it's quite WEIRD. Firs ttime in the hotel without a cover for its blanket. Like someone stole your cover bed. One bed is seems new and the other one is bit sunk. So it wasnt a really good when it comes to sleep.

However the room has waterheater which is important for mother of a toddler. So I can cleaned up the milk bottle and made coffee. The bathroom has a good flow of hot water. Very clean bathroom. Except there's no curtain. So be mindful when you take a shower there.

Well overall, if you just in Singapore for couple of days with family and willing to compromise between price and quality of sleep then this hotel won't be too bad especially if you're looking at the location of the hotel.

Room Tip: Always check whether there's a bathroom available at the room or not

This hotel off one of the main through-fares of Singapore is very small and is suitable for traveller with basic needs. The property has been made within the least space possible and the rooms and everything inside them reflects the limitation of space. The hotel usually has only one staff member on duty. No room service is available though the hotel does provide an electric kettle and supplies for making coffee and tea. The rooms for single occupancy don't even have washroom within and have to make do with a public washroom they have to share with other rooms! Rooms are tiny and the double rooms come with washrooms which too are tiny (don't even expect a bath tub!). Rooms with windows are few and you will be lucky to get one! The walls in the corridors and the rooms are colourful with bright paint used! All said and done this is a hotel close to several popular tourist spots and a MRT station and bus station and thus suitable for tourists. The staff are helpful. The high influx of tourists to Singapore might have made hotel rooms come into high demand and thus tiny hotels like Le Singapore too are likely to benefit! If you want better prices and larger rooms, look for hotels away from the vicinity of Le Hotel Singapore!

Room Tip: Not too much choice really! Ask for a room on the upper floors and one with a window.

Found it a bit odd that the main door for this hotel had the sign "Rated on Tripadvisor" and yet there were only 2 reviews so far. So might as well leave my notes.

For a business trip for 1 person - you really just need the basic things: clean comfort room with hot water, quiet air conditioning, and a decent bed. Check for all three for this hotel.

However, you REALLY just get those for at least 100 USD per night as a "budget hotel" for Singapore's standards. To give you a better picture, I'll share the other details here and it's up to you if you LIKE or UNLIKE this hotel.

ROOM:
1. Access key is really a KEY - which is very telling of the "budget".
2. There is TV with local channels.
3. They have the standard bathroom paraphernalia
4. They have the standard complimentary coffee/milk tea sachets and water
5. There is a heater for potable water
6. No window - at night, you'll have the aircon "power on" and smoke detector led lights as your night light.
7. The WIFI couldn't connect in the room, for some reason.
8. The paint job could be improved.
9. The walls could be cleaned better - you know how your leather shoe sole could possibly make black marks on the wall if you accidentally brush up on it? Well, the wall has those when I arrived. These could be cleaned but I understand it would be a little difficult (but really possible).

HOTEL:
1. Clean and seems like everything is newly painted (better paint job outside than inside the rooms).
2. There is an elevator.
3. There is some privacy. A family with a small kid stayed in a room beside mine and I couldn't hear them, which is good.
4. There are computers and wifi on the ground floor, which I wasn't able to use tho.
5. Very good location (Mall, MRT, small eating areas nearby, taxi stations).
6. Safe (then again, this is Singapore's claim to fame).

For someone who stayed for 2 nights alone for business (out most of the day, drunk most of the night), it was a good stay. In personal trips, I sometimes think that the hotel payments can be a waste because you don't get to use the amenities for short stays, so this hotel made sense to me. However, for an additional 20 USD per night, you could technically get a better hotel (with at least a window to enjoy some view of the city).

I asked the receptionist if I could see some of the other (bigger) rooms so I could decide to stay here again. They didn't have any available I could see, which could have helped me make a better review at least or help me decide to stay here again. Now, I really don't know.

For business, maybe yes.
For personal with the wife and baby and reminiscing such "Kodak" moments in the future, uhm probably not, sorry.

Hope you guys find this helpful.

The place was newly renovated and still had the smell of paint (especially my room). Although everything was clean and in working order, it wasn't worth the $100 USD per night I paid to get a small windowless room. The hotel does have rooms with windows, but I was given one that basically resembled a jail cell - that's not exactly advertised in most of the online hotel listings!

There is free wifi and the location is great so Le Hotel is well suited for someone who only wants a place to sleep and wash up - Clarke Quay MRT is right across the way, and it's a 5 minute walk to @Central and the Boat Quay/Clark Quay, which makes up to some extent for the windowless cells they call rooms. Not terrible - I've stayed in worse.

Room Tip: booking through agoda will get you the worst room possible - windowless cell
