Studio M was a nice enough place to stay for a family. The room layout is slightly odd but worked ok for us with 2 adults and 3 children sharing two rooms. There are no adjoining rooms for families apparently so luckily our two eldest kids were old enough to be by themselves. The bathrooms are small and airless and not very practical - ok for a short stay although already there were shoeing signs of growing mould, probably because no way of airing them properly. The room was reasonably clean although I noticed dust all over the stairs which hadn't been cleaned properly. Beds were comfortable. The stairs up to the loft sleeping area would not be practical for young children - we had a 3 year old with us and she managed ok but any younger it would be difficult. The room cleanliness was average. The good things about the hotel were that there is a nice river walk basically outside the door, the pool area was lovely with loungers and comfy chairs and tables and the staff were helpful. The hotel also provides computers and free wifi. The cafe downstairs serves a decent cup of coffee. And while the hotel is not in the midst of the shopping area we walked with the kids to Orchard Road and back and it really wasn't that far - maybe 20 mins. Also, taxis are super cheap so I think a taxi to Little India cost less then $10 and that was on a busy festival night. I'd recommend the hotel if you intend to spend time in the pool area and don't have small kids and you can get a good deal - not sure I'd want to pay the rack rate for the rooms - they're just not good enough.

Room Tip: We had a room looking out towards the river and not near pool area - it was quiet.

Very nice designer influenced hotel with two storey loft style rooms.

I was in a room where the bed was on the top floor and a lounge at the bottom.

Nice facilities and people. Awesome lap pool.

Main drawback is the bathroom...its soo small. When I used the toilet for a number 2 there realy wasnt much room left for me to read the paper =) But then again not in the toilet all the time. The same goes with the shower which is equally tiny.

It reminds me of being one a cruise ship

Pillows and duvets were all down, but he pillows were a bit too soft for me.

Slightly out of the way from main tourist places but I was there for business anyways so it wasnt a big problem

Studio M innovative design, good value/price and good reviews got me to choose this hotel for my short biznes/leisure 5-day trip to Singapore. The pleasant customer service and awesome beds also gets them the extra brownie points.

The minus points are the small toilets & shower, distance from an MRT station (which is a 20 minutes walk to Clark Quay) and in my personal view, the overly sparse minimalist deco in the rooms, which does not give the room any comfy-mood character. Its probably good if you're just there for a comfortable sleep with the satellite TV on.

I took the higher priced Executive Room and surprised to see that no sofa there :(

This hotel has a unique loft room layout that while sounds like it's bigger, it's not. In an attempt to be fancy-pants, they squandered away the little open space the room had in the name of being different. The hotel is located in a business district. You'll have to take a taxi for shopping or nightlife.

Room Tip: There really are no view options at this hotel. Ask to stay in a room facing the Sands hotel.

Every other month when in Singapore I normally pay the premium to stay on Orchard Road. This time was a business trip and my first experience with this hotel in the business district. Yes it's very close to the fun at Robertson Quay but it definitely lacks the vibe of Orchard. And yes the loft rooms have an interesting design but not really very functional. The double bed in the loft was comfortable but the tight stairway up/down is a bore except for a bit of exercise. The separate toilet is the smallest I've ever seen. The shower is also separate and very small. The lighting around the sink in the downstairs living area is very poor. Actually nothing much positive to say about the room itself. The breakfast was good. Overall for S$230 I expected better value but then this IS Singapore and value is harder to find these days!
