I stayed here with my wife while I was at a conference. Overall a quite good, unremarkable hotel, except for the room layout. The entry level had a desk, sink, tv, very tiny toilet room and fairly small shower, and stairs leading up to a loft. Only a bed and tv there. With shades drawn, a stunning, dramatic view with 2 story high glass (we were in a corner unit, so glass to your front and side going down. Great, until you are going downstairs in the middle of the night, jetlagged and a bit unsteady. Definitely not recommended for those afraid of heights or clumsy, fine and even welcome otherwise. A bit far from MRT but taxis are cheap in Singapore.

Robertson Quay is one of the better locations in Singapore. Of the three quays (Clarke and Boat being the other two), Robertson offers the quieter and more attractive experience. Studio M is on the corner of Nanson Road and Mohamed Sultan Road. The latter is relatively busy 24 hours a day so the hotel is subject to traffic noise. It also suffers from what I can only describe as the sound of extra-loud karaoke. From where this emanates I don't know but it is quite intrusive.

Demolition and construction is a national pastime in Singapore and many buildings are deemed ripe for demolition after about 15 years. As such everything is built to last for about that period. This is particularly apparent in the rooms in Studio M. In terms of the bathroom fittings etc, it is clean but the formica fittings are covered in extensive scuff marks making the entire room look dirty.

There is a shower cubicle, a separate toilet, with a sink in the main room itself. So three locations for bathroom fittings: very odd. The shower is small but ok. The toilet is tiny. Pulling up your pants in there is next to impossible! The room itself is on two levels with the upper part consisting of a little office and sofa. I liked this layout very much but, if I had been travelling with a partner, there would have been next to no room for luggage without dragging some up the stairs to the upper level.

The choice of cable channels is very limited and the wifi (free!) connection is very slow. The room service prices, on the other hand, are (for a hotel) very reasonable and the food is very good quality.

The hotel staff are very polite and helpful and I was particularly impressed with the maid on my floor who knew my name and was always keen to help point me in the direction of wherever I was going.

Having read my review you may think I did not like this hotel very much but, all in all, the plus points outweighed the minus points and I did enjoy my stay. If you are alone, the rooms are cool and funky. If you're with a partner, you may want to consider a more traditional hotel.

Loved this hotel. Yes it is small, but we were only there for 2 nights, so that was fine. And we're not huge - which helps! The bed was absolutely amazing - THREE mattress toppers and a gorgeous feather duvet. So comfy and we slept brilliantly (maybe the 14 hour flight from London had something to do with that too!). We stayed on the top floor (9th) and the views were stunning. The pool was great too. Perfect to cool down after a hot day's work trawling all the sights!
Staff were very helpful. Got the Singapore Hotels bus from the airport, door to door service - great. Taxi's were cheap and great to get in the air conditioning from the 34 degree heat.
The MRT was a bit of a walk away, but a nice walk along Clark Quay. Close to great restaurants and bars. Great having an Illy coffee bar downstairs in the hotel.
Overall, a great stay. Would definately recommend it.

This hotel is cool, no doubt. The pool area is fantastic. Lobby all in sparkling white. New design throughout the building.

Obviously land is very expensive thats why the Italian designer came up with the idea to build in studio/mezzanine/loft style.

The room is like a legoland room - very small. If you measure 1.85m and more or your weight is 90kilos above this place is not for you. Simply - you hardly fit in the toilet. Dont drink if you stay in this hotel othewise you wont make it up to the bedroom!!

Internet is free, location is good, gym is nice.

Having read the conflicting reviews of this hotel we decided to give it a go as we had previously stayed at the Park Hotel so know the area quite well. the hotel itself is very new having opened in April this year so not much wear and tear as yet. it is well located near a bridge corssing the Singapore River and is very convenient for bus travel, although the MRT is a 15 walk away.
We had the room configuration where the double bed is on the lower level and the sitting / lounge area on the mezzanine level accessed by a staircase at the foot of the bed. The hotel blurb says its 22 sq m and here's what it translates::
There's a small entrance hallway as you enter the room - this doubles up as your changing area after a shower, which is to the right and the WC to the left. Both these are tiny hence the need to dress in the hallway - there's a courtesy sliding door to seperate this area from the bed area if modesty requires!
The bed itself along with a small sink and under storage area takes up the rest of the lower level. The bed is tucked right up against the floor to ceiling glass window so whoever sleeps on that side cannot get down except by sliding off the foot of the bed. Up short flight of stairs is a desk with internet connections and a small sofa which converts to a bed if necessary.
All in all it was perfectly adequate for our needs but I would choose the other configuration where the sitting area is below and the bed up top if I were to visit again - costs SGD20 extra per night.
The rest of the hotel was a delight - lovely pool area, friendly & helpful staff.
