i choose the Roxy Mercure because Crowne Plaza Changi was full. big mistake!
i arrived late evening at the airport and was looking to some rest. bad news: ... the Hotel shuttle comes every hour, plus the check-in took 28 minutes. on top of that, the hotel is under heavy renovation.... how does pneumatic hammers sound at 8:30am?

better to stay at Changi Village or Crowne Plaza Changi if you are looking for an airport hotel.

High Floor room not provided even though this was requested weeks earlier during booking.

The room has no view even though this hotel is promoted as being coastal hotel.

Service is great as most of the staffs are very helpful.

We spent two night at Grand Mercure Roxy Square on August 2011.

The hotel is near to the airport, only 30 min by using their free airport shuttle. The shuttle goes every 30 minutes (on time). There also a free shuttle to nearby MRT station - only in the morning. It take 10 mins by shuttle to nearest MRT Station. Btw, you cannot walk to the MRT Station as it is quite far. Dont get fooled from the hotel website map that describe the hotel near to Eunos MRT Station. I think it take more than 30 minutes to walk on foot to the MRT station.

The location is in Roxy Square, not an interesting shopping center. As there were only few shop, few pubs, few beauty care etc. But in front of the hotel there was a big and complete shopping mall named Parkway Parade-they have a website for this mall. Only 1 minutes on foot (Caution : I dont find any sign name of this mall in the front, but I found this mall quite interesting & complete as I spent a lot of SGD here...hehehe)

In the patong street, behind of this hotel, there was a famous Patong Laksa. Great food !!! You can take a bus from in front of Roxy Square or in front of Parkway Parade. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to Orchard Road or China Town. There is also a convenience store & 7/11 nearby. One more thing, the location is quite far from the beach.

The hotel it self is a quite old chinese ambience hotel. The room is quite good & standard for Mercure hotel. But we got annoyed by another room renovation noise (hammer sound) at the evening and late morning. The bed is quite big as it was a king size bed. There is no good view from our hotel.

But, we sad that we cannot get an early check in as we arrived at the hotel at 10.30 AM in Saturday.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore. We’re glad to know you had a good stay with us. The nearest MRT station to the hotel is actually Paya Lebar and not Eunos. It is quite far to walk, depending on your pace, it could take between 30 to 45 minutes walk. If you’re the adventurous type and you enjoy seeing the local scenery, this walk could be quite enjoyable whether you go through Tanjong Katong Road or Joo Chiat Road. Same thing with East Coast park, if you enjoy a healthy walk, then this is definitely a nice 20 minute walk and it takes you straight to the beach with a great jogging track all along the sea. On another note, the area you are referring to would be “Katong” which is indeed famous for its Laksa. It is really great to know that overall you enjoyed the hotel surrounding with the shopping centre just opposite and the many eateries proving delicious food in front and behind the hotel. We apologise for the inconveniences due to the upgrading and refurbishment works that are being carried out at the moment. Early arrival however is only possible upon guestroom availability. We look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to Singapore.

Kind regards,
Dominique A. Albero

An unfortunate stay as a stopover on the way back from UK. Toddler was a bit noisy due to jetlag and complaints were made by business guests. We were moved to another room at 2am in the morning to another room. The checkin staff should not put children next to business guests and this hotel was certainly not at full occupancy.

near to food centre and mal (parkway parade).

The minus is not too close to MRT.. We have to take the bus to reach the MRT. but Free shuttle bus every 30 minutes on time, so we don't have to worry about transfer from/to airport.
