I really would like to rate this hotel with zero points, but the one point is for one lady at the breakfast and for the view from the rooftop pool. If Naumi Hotel was a hostel and cost like SGD 80 per night I would like this hotel, but about SGD 400 per night for the cheapest room is too much for what they offer (or is it the Nespresso machine which makes the room so pricy??)
Now let's begin.. When we arrived i had to push my suitcase myself the small ramp into the hotel. Since we checked in before 2 p.m. we had to wait a little for the room, but that was no problem, we could store our luggage and went shopping meanwhile. Staff at check in was friendly.
About the room: very dark with 1960s style furniture... If you look for decoration, you won't find much. I'm still wondering why the hotel won an design award and is part of the small luxury boutique hotel group, because it's not very luxurious!! The bed is comfortable, but you can't get no rest if the housekeeping staff talks loud at 8 am and you hear everything from the outside.. Minibar is for free (Soda, Sprite and Coke, that's it). Room is very dark and if you want light at the wardrobe you have to go to the bedroom to switch it on. If you open the door of the wardrobe, you can't get into the bathroom. In the shower there was black mold...
Breakfast: ok... first day we were asked if we want coffee, and the lady offered us cappuccino, caffe latte, moccha etc, another waiter asked us if we want an egg, any style. I offered scrambled egg, got an omelet (which was good). Next day we got just a cup of coffee with no milk, which i had to get from the buffett and we weren't even asked if we want an egg. Bread is under an infraded lamp (?), so the bread is always warm, but the cheese is right next to the bread, so the cheese was nearly melted! Poor service that day!
The swimming pool is small, there are only a few sunchairs and due to an construction site near the hotel it was very very noisy.
So, since we weren't satisfied at all we checked out after 2 nights and booked another hotel at Scotts Road, which was defenitely better than the Naumi!
Would I stay there again or recommend it? NO!
