Reviewed 24 February 2012

I really would like to rate this hotel with zero points, but the one point is for one lady at the breakfast and for the view from the rooftop pool. If Naumi Hotel was a hostel and cost like SGD 80 per night I would like this hotel, but about SGD 400 per night for the cheapest room is too much for what they offer (or is it the Nespresso machine which makes the room so pricy??)

Now let's begin.. When we arrived i had to push my suitcase myself the small ramp into the hotel. Since we checked in before 2 p.m. we had to wait a little for the room, but that was no problem, we could store our luggage and went shopping meanwhile. Staff at check in was friendly.

About the room: very dark with 1960s style furniture... If you look for decoration, you won't find much. I'm still wondering why the hotel won an design award and is part of the small luxury boutique hotel group, because it's not very luxurious!! The bed is comfortable, but you can't get no rest if the housekeeping staff talks loud at 8 am and you hear everything from the outside.. Minibar is for free (Soda, Sprite and Coke, that's it). Room is very dark and if you want light at the wardrobe you have to go to the bedroom to switch it on. If you open the door of the wardrobe, you can't get into the bathroom. In the shower there was black mold...

Breakfast: ok... first day we were asked if we want coffee, and the lady offered us cappuccino, caffe latte, moccha etc, another waiter asked us if we want an egg, any style. I offered scrambled egg, got an omelet (which was good). Next day we got just a cup of coffee with no milk, which i had to get from the buffett and we weren't even asked if we want an egg. Bread is under an infraded lamp (?), so the bread is always warm, but the cheese is right next to the bread, so the cheese was nearly melted! Poor service that day!

The swimming pool is small, there are only a few sunchairs and due to an construction site near the hotel it was very very noisy.

So, since we weren't satisfied at all we checked out after 2 nights and booked another hotel at Scotts Road, which was defenitely better than the Naumi!

Would I stay there again or recommend it? NO!

Dear _Betty_Sue_1108
Naumi says..... we are sorry!
Please accept my sincere apologies for your less than satisfactory stay with us recently. Your feedback is important to us and I have personally reviewed them and taken the necessary remedial actions where possible. Some like the construction noise cannot be resolved immediately but others like our hsk staff talking loudly, can. We currently have a maintenance programme which will be enhanced even further. We are also in our planning stages to upgrade our hotel/facilities and hope you will allow us another opportunity to serve you again once our new product is un-veiled. On a brighter note, I am glad to read that you found our check-in staff friendly & our bed comfortable. Thank you for taking time in giving us your feedback.
Best regards,

Stayed at the Naumi for 4 nights in a deluxe room. I felt immediately comfortable. Rooms are rather large, modern, with all the attention to details that make a stay in a hotel different (Ipod deck, Nespresso coffee machine, large flat screen TV, free wireless internet connection, ...). Though some may consider the choice at the breakfast buffet limited, it was more than enough varied for me with every thing fresh, tasty and choice of omelettes served at your table, good coffee,... But what really stands out is the personnel and the service! One slight advice though to the management, there starts to be some very tiny signs of need for maintenance and it would be too bad to let the property aging to rapidly. I will stay again at Naumi hotel!

My husband and I stayed in the Naumi Hotel in early February for two nights. I chose the hotel based on its location and price, and we were very pleased with it.

The rooms are large, comfortable, with good bathrooms, and - on the Ladies' Floor at least - excellent amenities. The hair-straightener, for example, was very welcome. Wi-fi was good - though it wasn't turned on the first night we arrived (despite being told it would be) and we had to ask the next day. It wasn't a problem - if it had been, I'd have just visited reception again.

Breakfast was good, but the egg-ordering system seems a little chaotic. A group was there whilst we were, and there was a bit of a mix-up with orders, including mine. But no-one seemed upset, and the rest of the service was good.

The entrance to the hotel is quite unassuming, but it is the location that we liked. It is easy to walk to nearby places, including Marina Bay, and there is an MRT station (or two) nearby.

We arrived after a long flight, both of us exhausted, so ended up eating a room service pizza (which was tasty and all we needed). We kicked ourselves though when the next morning we walked out and found the street is lined with casual eating places, including places with my favourite chicken rice, and lots of other options. As always in Singapore, I wished we had longer simply to eat!

The pool looked appealing, and the view is great, though it is a small area. We didn't have time to use it.

We were very happy with the Naumi. It's not a big/name five-star hotel, and so lacks some of the polish that you might find there. But the rooms are excellent, and so it turns out to be excellent value for money.

I am a professional in the hotel industry and stay in hotels world over. This place is amongst the best there is. Leaving aside the great rooms and cool vibe, the staff are first class, attentive, helpful, friendly and a very tight crew. Am definitely returning.

Naumi is very clean and is located relatively well in the heart of the city. The problem is that is located in a small side street which many of the taxi drivers we experienced did not know the street name, which made for arriving to our hotel at night a bit of a challenge. We had a small problem getting a taxi to the main sea port on the day we checked out of which the receptionist was NOT successful in getting us a taxi on time like she told us previously, and which I had to run down the end of a block and get a taxi myself. Very strange circumstance.??

Dear stosito,
Naumi says.... we are sorry!
I read with concern about your experience with our staff not getting a taxi for you. I sincerely apologise as that should not have happened. We would normally flag a taxi down from the street or guests have an option, with a booking fee applicable, to book a taxi in advance. This way, no waiting is needed and a taxi is there waiting for you. I have addressed this issue with our staff to ensure it is not repeated. We have and will be doing more programmes to let our taxi providers be more aware of our location. Thank you for your feedback which will allow us to be even better in future.

We stayed in the Naumi hotel for three nights over Christmas and it was just perfect. Its a corner of tranquility in a bustling city. The staff could not have been more attentive, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean - with the best pillows we have ever had!! The location, just around the corner from Raffles, means you are close to the main attractions and shopping centres. I have already recommended this hotel to a number of people and will certainly stay here again next time we visit Singapore.

The rooms were spacious, we didn't get a good view, but we were planning on staying in much, we were there with 2 kids. The Staff were very helpful with providing us with a cot and turning the living sofa into a bed for our other child.

Most important the rooms were clean, the hotel was clean.

The staff were nice always smiling, and always ready to help.

I loved the fact that we were only walking distance from the shopping and the train. We were there during christmas, there was some rain. But offcourse the hotel had umbrellas we could use.

We enjoyed our stay, THANK YOU NAUMI!
