I think this might be my favorite hostel I stayed in during my 3 months traveling through Chile! I planned to be here for 3 days but fell in love with the hostel and the area around Pucon, and stayed a whole week (and wanted to stay longer!).
It's super clean and really cozy, with the most gorgeous kitchen, fire, and big open living/dining area. The owners are sweet and accommodating. Excellent value for the money. As a laid-back mid-20s female traveler I found it to be friendly and met some wonderful people — but definitely not a party hostel (there were honeymooning couples and a young family when I was there as well).
It is a few minutes outside of the town, which I truly didn't mind. If you don't have a car and are planning to do a ton of tours that leave from town, you might find the location annoying? But I enjoyed being tucked away from the (lovely but quite touristy) town center, and it was super easy to hitchhike or catch a bus (500 pesos) to or from town. Also, many of the buses heading to nearby towns/lakes, the national parks, etc. pass by here. So I often didn't need to go into town to start my day.More
