Truly a hole in the wall! We walked past it twice! There is a little fish market type store front, it's barely bigger than a phone booth. Once I spotted the sign, buried under the ivy, we poked in and asked if there was a restaurant. Sure enough, she showed us to a hole in the floor, where there was a skinny little staircase. Down the steps we went. Watch your head! There's 4 tables down there. Very simple menu on the wall. Don't ask for translation, no one speaks English. We all had a fun time trying to figure out what to order. In the end, we took the gentleman's suggestions. We ordered cerviche for starters. That was delicious! Huge amount of shrimp and fish. Then dinner entrees came. We really had no idea what we had ordered. One dish was shrimp with oil and garlic. On the menu, it was camaronnes. I guess we now know that is shrimp. The other dish was a crab augratin. Lots of crab in it. It came to the table incredibly hot. The dish had gone into a broiler, no doubt. It was so hot it was difficult to eat. No hurrying. It was delicious. I think on the menu, it was Pasteljaiba. Accompanying dinner was bread and butter. Add in a bottle of sparkling water, one beer and a very generous shot of Pisco. The owner told us that if we needed another beer, just get one out of the fridge! The total was about 37000 pesos. We left 40000, and it's about $60US. What an experience! It was truly like having dinner at someone's home, in the basement. Lol. Very quirky and fun. No hoity-toity here.

If you don't mind eating in a fire hazard, this is an excellent choice for seafood. Nothing fancy, just fresh ingredients, well prepared and reasonably priced. The closest you will get to a seaside restaurant in Santiago

We decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. We almost walked right pass it. It does not look like a restaurant at all on the street level. It looks like a small seafood shop. The restaurant is hidden in the basement. The basement itself is a small cramped space with 4 small tables. We were very skeptical but were too embarrassed to a walk out.
Good thing we stayed.

We had raw oysters and a Conger soup based on the owners recommendation. The oysters were very fresh. The soup was super flavorful. We will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

Two thumbs up.

We found the restaurant in Trip Advisor and we decided to try it. The food was delicious. We ate "navajas a la parmegiana" and after I ate centolla crab meat and my boyfriend, a tuna steak. I really really recommend it ! Do not judge it by its looks. It is the best meal I had in Chile!
