The staff is very nice and accommodating but the our room was small with old furniture. It was clean but this is really a budget travelers hotel. We had a room in front, it was noisy in the morning and hot with no AC. Circulating fan that move the air around but still an uncomfortable night.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the front are quieter.

The atmosphere of this old house with its 17 rooms is quite nice and the location is great. We booked a superior room for 4 nights and got room no. 13. The room is fairly big and is mostly nicely decorated. The bedsheets and towels were clean, but the rest was very dirty. The furnitures were covered with dirt from years back. Just by using a moist tissue (see photo) I could change one leg of my nightstand from grey/black to egg white. Not only the furnitures but also doors and door frames were the same way. I complained to the staff and were told that I had to remember it is an old house. I cannot see the connection between old house and filthy house. When we returned the first afternoon there had been some cleaning of the furnitures and doors so it looked a bit better. There were still some spots on the walls, toothbrush splashing on the black tiles in the nice bathroom and not to forget lots of spiderweb on the walls and along the ceilings over the sofa.
The breakfast room was the worst. The legs of all the once eggshell painted chairs and tables are black from dirt. The rest of the chairs including the backrest is also dirty. To touch these chairs before eating doesn’t stimulate ones appetite.
All together our room was a bit weird, like it was used for storing broken items. There was two standing lamps in our room. One was without a lightbulb and one had a bulb but no light (see photo). In the tiny wardrobe was placed a small door which probably belonged to one of the doors to our terrace. Some time the owners may have wanted to change the color of the wardrobe door but changed their mind. Because of this, parts of the doors and the architraves have different color (see photo).
In connedtion to our room there was a nice little terrace. After the staff had cleaned the furnitures it was almost possible to sit on the sofa without getting too dirty.
The hotel is nice. It is so sad the owners don’t keep it clean. Some buckets of soap water would make a great difference and wouldn’t cost much. Some buckets of painting would make it even better. In the state the hotel is today I think it is highly overrated both by members of Booking.com and TripAdvisor, and so is the price.

Excellent location right on one of the main squares and within easy walking distance of the older part of Santiago.

This is a small, family run, hotel and you they make you feel as if you are part of the family. Staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The conversion from an old house has been done sympathetically and the decor reflects the character of the building.

Rooms are well appointed, all with private facilities, comfortable beds etc.

Lovely breakfast area - room to sit outside if the weather is good. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice of food. Plenty of restaurants for evening meals within walking distance.

Highly recommended if you like small boutique style hotels.

I enjoyed our stay at Mito Casa Hotel, but could have been better.

We stayed for a week and had a late night check in (2 AM). Were received quickly.

The front desk staff was super helpful and sometimes chatty, which I liked. One time Oscar helped us with a tour operator that was late for pickup, which otherwise we would probably have lost.

Breakfast is varied, delicious, fresh and abundant, the hotel decoration and complimentary glass of wine were superb.

Booked a room with a private bathroom outside the room, and city views. However, upon check in were directed (without asking) to another room in the ground floor, with a in-room bathroom and with garden views. So far so good - as it seemed like an upgrade, except that later on our stay we discovered that staff and (presumably) other guests would like to go to the garden and smoke / chat. This by itself is not a problem, but smoke and noise filters through the room door and was incredible irritating. One particular incident happened at 12:00AM and was impossible to sleep! I had to go outside and ask the gentlemen smoking to please move somewhere else, as the noise and smell was too much.

The room was small, the bed and linings were very comfortable and warm. There was no AC, but we didn't need it (second week of April, not too hot or cold yet). The TV didn't work, but we didn't need it either so no big deal. The bathroom was clean and elegant. Light leaks through the door from the garden, which was not a problem for us.

Room Tip: don't stay on the ground floor

The hotel's location is very good. What I loved here is its garden and having breakfast in a warm atmosphere with other people. The bed in the room was so huge for the room. The people were OK, not so helpful, but acceptable.
