Stayed five days at the Hotel El Parinacota in the Embassy suburb of Las Condes. Despite that it was a fairly comfortable place, and the staff very helpful, the hotel was too far away from the center of Santiago. If you are a tourist who likes to be in the center of things then El Parinacota is not for you.
The nearest subway stop was "Escuela Militar" which is the last stop on the line. From there it was a trek back to the hotel. Although Santiago is a gourmet's delight, restaurants were a few stops down the line, not too many around the hotel. Nonetheless, there was an upscale cafeteria on the next block, but that was it.
Despite its drawbacks the rooms were clean and the price, $80.00, included a good buffet breakfast.
