Mercado central market in Santiago is mainly a fish market . One can see different varieties of shell fish and other fishes. The choice is amazing. Don't get conned into eating at one of the restaurants OUTSIDE the market and in the square. They rip you. Go to one of the dinghy ones INSIDE the market. The seafood is truly delicious. I found the marisqueria San Jose very good.Robbert, the owner ,speaks good English. Try the Congrio soup and the Reineta, which is the Chilean version of Fish and Chips.tight jacket and deep fried. Really yum.
