I really liked the design and layout of this museum. The Picaso exhibit was there at this time and it was very busy. There is also an exhibit there that shows how they make much of the floor tiles you see throughout much of oldtown. One thing you need to know men and ladies is like most government buildings they have the worst toilet paper if any and there was no hand soap, so be advice to bring your own.

Given the turbulent history of La Moneda in recent generations, this cultural center is an excellent redemption of this space. As a resident of Santiago I frequently visit Centro Cultural to enjoy the temporary exhibitions that rotate every 5 months or so. As a history teacher at a local school I often bring student groups to see exhibitions of Japanese samurai armor, Qing dynasty art from the Palace Museum, the art of Picasso, and Islamic objects of art, just to name a few. There are also frequent fairs and musical performances in the lobby area. Centro Cultural consistently attracts top notch exhibitions and they are displayed with taste. Admissions is free every day until 1pm. There are other small exhibitions to visit and cultural venues to explore. The gift shop on the top floor are among the best in Santiago. This is also a great place to escape the sun on a hot summer day.

An inspired idea to built a modern "tomb" to house visiting exhibitions. Located underneath La Moneda lies this welcoming and airy space far removed from the busy street above. This centre has real vision and currently houses a fascinating Picasso exhibition which is a feast to the eye. But explore more as other rooms house interesting subjects as well. Sadly not non Spanish speaking friendly but the art speaks for itself. The centre has a good artisan shop and restaurants. Well worth a visit when in the area

We were here for a Picasso exhibit. Well curated and narrated in both Spanish and English. The underground structure is intriguing and worth a visit in its own right.
