Our previous research encouraged us to Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania.

We included a visit on our walking tour of Santiago.

We also visited shops and cafe.

I saw an exhibition about whales that was interesting, but you have another floors to visit, a small store selling tipical products from Chile, a restaurant/cafe, etc. If you are close to Palacio La Moneda, it worth a while to a quick visit.

Worth visiting as one can see what Chile went through during these past years. Very well organized and you get to see a lot if you have the time to spare.

Palacio de la moneda is an amazing place to visit and it always has some exposition available. It also has a place for kids to play around, so if you are traveling with your family you will feel happy to see your kids playing there.

Upstairs, you have the presidential palace you can walk through (you may have to reserve). Underground, you have a changing variety of exhibits with quite a variety of different themes (I saw one on old samurai armor). It can get crowded in the afternoon.

This place has some nice exhibits, which I found unimpressive, but it is free and downtown so if you walk by, go in and see if you like it. The building itself is nice.

Visited the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda during the time where there was an exposition about Andy Warhol's art. I got to enjoy lots of his artworks as well as a very detailed description and timeline of his life milestones. Although I had to pay, I was able to use the benefit of the student price, which is half of what a normal person would pay. After seeing the exposition, there was a sale of pop-art and music related things, such as t-shirts, vinyls and stickers.

A very well done artifact exhibit from the Vatican that only lasted until towards the end of March 2018. Simply an incredible experience to see this display, I was awestruck at the beautiful items they brought in.... I imagine only in Rome might you see a more complete collection on display. I would think that there are several different exhibits of equal caliber on display here throughout the year and so would be a good place to stop in when you are here to see what they have. Located directly behind the Presidential Palace building in downtown. Nice large plaza and water fountains to enjoy at the street level as well - the cultural center is actually below all of this.

A beautiful exhibition space in the centre of Santiago, and a respite from the heat if you’re there in the summer. Lots of activities for kids. Two great cafes, although these get heavily booked over lunch time. A great shop full of interesting Chilean cultural items. When I was there in 2018 they were showing an exhibition of Roman artefacts from the Vatican collection. Like all museum exhibitions that I have experienced in Chile it was superb. Free in the mornings.

The entrance is a narrrow ramp, the water wall does nothing to cool this space, no seats outside except for smokers, no greenery except a sad tree.
Inside is more like the central space of a shopping mall than a museum.
