Organized this from the US directly with the backpackers. They were fantastic. The apartment was excellent, a supermarket was across the street, and there was a laundry room in the building to wash up our clothes. The supermarket had individual sized everything, even wine & beer, so foraging for food on a budget was very easy and crazy cheap. The location could not be beat, was really close to everything including public transport and the most amazing collection of Cafes I have ever seen. The museums were a 5 minute walk, the park the same (went for a run everyday). The metro was a challenge, but also really close. Would definitely go back and use taxi's more to make things easier when it is raining and cold. Food is everywhere, it was really a challenge to choose between trying local foods from the market and going to a restaurant....too many choices.
The only bad thing, was that the apartments are in a residential block that happened to have so family mellow drama with screaming kids running up and down the halls pretty much at all hours everyday we were there. Was never sure if this was a normal occurrence but there wasn't really anything anyone could do. Otherwise beat a hotel for sure. And you can walk over to the backpackers to get that vibe and plan other outings, meet people, etc. Highly recommend. Elderly mother loved it.More
