I went by recommendation of an 90 year old man in the street. We planned to go to another Asian restaurant but he insisted to go there. The ambience very nice, the service good and the price a little bit high. We ordered one appetizer, one main dish and rice. The amount of food was enough for two. The food was very nice and fresh. I think good quality of food. I will come back when visit Santiago again.

This restaurant wins this prize for serving me up the worst meal I can remember. Ever. My entire life. And I've had some shockers.

Spring rolls...inedible.

Siu mai.....dodgy

Fried rice....disgusting

Hot plate beef and chicken.... edible but so full of MSG I'll need a saline drop overnight to rehydrate.

What were we thinking. Chinese in Chile. Derrrr.

I can't talk more poorly of this restaurant. Avoid it like the plague.

Visited this restaurant after a show at the nearby Teatro Municipal - the show was great, which unfortunately cannot be said for the restaurant.

Obviously a Chinese restaurant called The Blue Danube is unlikely to be very authentic, and this one certainly lived up to that expectation, with not a single Chinese face in sight. The service was lackadaisical at best, even though the restaurant was by that late hour quite empty.

The food might charitably be labeled as "expensive Chinese fusion" - and the wines, Wow!, priced anywhere between 60% to 100% more than typical in other up-market Santiago restaurants for the identical wine and vintage.

All in all not really a place to be recommended.

...and it's a Chinese restaurant. They have a HUGE menu and it's not authentic Chinese, kind of American takeout Chinese. But if you need your fix, go for it.

This restaurant used to be top - and although had read some negative reviews, I didn't want to rely on these. So sad to confirm that the quality of the food has dropped dramatically. Service was cordial and prompt - but the food was horrible. The duck tasted rancid. The rice was impossible to eat - really poor quality. A wonton soup that tasted like salty broth. Spring rolls fried on old oil. Steamed dumplings that tasted and felt like gum. We also orders two types of chicken - eish. And the sesame tuna - so so sweet that it killed the taste. Nothing saved the evening. I truly hope that they take a deep look at the quality of the ingredients and cooking - this household name restaurant deserves a better present.
