We spent 4 nights in the Quito Marriott in January prior to a Galapagos cruise. The hotel is immaculately clean and very luxurious. The lobby and public areas were wonderful, and filled with gorgeous arrangements of roses, which are grown in abundance outside Quito.
Our room was huge and very comfortable, just like a 5 star American hotel room. The service was excellent, and the staff at the reception desk already knew us by name the morning after we checked in. The only thing that might discourage one from staying there is that it is a very American hotel, and does not really reflect much Ecuadoran culture. It also is a bit far from the old town of Quito, so you have to take a taxi to see most of the sights. They will arrange tours for you through the concierge at the hotel, but we found that their price was much higher than we paid hiring a driver on our own to take us out of Quito to go touring.
The hotel restaurants had very good food--surprisingly good for hotel restaurants, in our opinion.
In terms of value, we were booked into the hotel as part of a package put together for us by Galapagosislands.com, so I don't really know what it would cost booked alone, but we felt that we got a very good deal for the package, even though we added extra nights in Quito.

All of the comforts of home with excellent service. Our room was very nice and comfortable, and after 8 days out of touch it was nice to be pampered a bit. Great service by the hotel and transport. Very comfortable "low risk" option if you are looking for a north american style hotel.

From the minute we arrived, we lacked nothing. Service was amazing, food was great and accomodations were exceptional. We weren't sure what transportation we should use. The doorman provided us with a private driver who was nothing short of incredible. His knowledge of Quito and the surrounding areas was excellant. His name is Marcelo Martinez and he will give you the kind of service and tour that is second to none. Ask for him when you stay here and you will not be sorry. I know that when my wife and I return to Quito, we will stay here and Marcelo will be our driver! The money spent is worth it. Quito is an amazing city and the JW Marriottt is where you'll want to stay.

JW Marriott – if you want a hotel like the ones we have in the USA then this is the hotel for you. The staff speaks English, are always attentive to all your needs & they make you feel special. Starting from the doorman who really looks after you from getting a cab to helping you if you need it – to the front desk personnel who are all extremely nice & helpful with any request or questions that you may have. The lobby is decorated with the most beautiful rose arrangements & there are 2 restaurants, plus a bar & several gift shops in the main floor. The bistro is on the lower level next to the pool & the pool area is gorgeous. The rooms were very clean & large, with 2 super comfortable queen beds, a desk for the workaholics, large flat screen TV & a large marble bathroom with an oversize tub, separate shower & toilet & for your use there are 2 robes & house slipper in the closet. On one of the upper floors there is an Executive Lounge with breakfast & snacks. We ate in all the restaurants & found the food to be OK, the usual hotel food but the buffet breakfast in the bistro was fabulous. They have a large selection of juice, fruits, cereals, breads, jams & jellies, potatoes, meats, eggs & omelets made to order & many other items. The only thing that the hotel could improve on is that they do not have free WIFI connection.

Just returned from a visit to the JW Marriott in Quito. We were going to the Galapagos on a Celebrity Cruise and went to Quito for a week prior to the trip. I had also stayed at this hotel a few years ago on a trip to Quito and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to come back. The hotel is beautiful with big rose bouquets everywhere in the lobby. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurants all had impeccable service and great food. The staff, however, is what makes the hotel truly shine. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I wanted to go on several tours and consulted the concierge desk. Miguel was extremely helpful with helping me sort out my options and planning all of my outings for me. The drivers of the cars that took us out were all so friendly and accommodating. I would stay at this hotel again in a minute and it makes me want to check out other JW Marriotts internationally to see if they are as nice as this one.

We stayed at the hotel due to a cancelled flight to Lima - arrived at 11pm - staff were amazing and very helpful - beds divine - room service quick - and they even provided breakfast boxes for our early flight the next morning - would definitely say again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for New's Years Eve Weekend. It was a big splurge for us. The design and location were excellent, and the room was beautiful and comfortably decorated. The pool is beautiful, although the hottub was a little small. Overall, a great hotel, but I'm giving it 4 stars because the dinner at the Mexican REstaurant was very mediocre.
