Problems seen:
Peeling paint in the room and other areas.
Dirty walls, furniture, bathtub and floor.
Strong Bad smell of stinky feet in the room.
Dirty and clean towels left in a utility room alltogether.
Rugs and chairs dirty and stained.
Large spider webs in corners.
Bathroom decoration not appropiate for a family.
Curtains do not provide privacy in the room.
And the list goes on.
When I brought up the mildew smell issue triggering my asthma, the attendant only solution was to give me a room on the 2nd floor which did not have a mildew smell but a strong smell of stinky feet.
He refused to reimbursed my money.

Stayed: February 2016, travelled solo

Just a few blocks from Parque Calderon. Location was very good. Room was dingy and dated but priced accordingly. Had secure underground parking. The breakfast that comes with the room was a fried egg served on a coffee saucer, no, for real.
It did have some of the fastest wifi we have seen in all of Latin America.

If you visiting Cuenca the least you will do is to stay in a hotel room, is so much to see that what you really need is to be in a place that is in the center of the historical city of Cuenca.
The Hotel Santa Ana is locating a 5 minutes’ walk from the central and historical park called Abdon Calderon and the Cathedral of Cuenca.

The Hotel has at lease a hundred room but I recommend getting the second floor room because they are more private.

Right at the corner of the Hotel Santa Ana is a Local Market Called, MERCADO 10 DE AGOSTO, were you can buy local produces, fruits, flowers and food, and when I say food I’m saying very, very, good cooked food. They start from 7:00Am to 7:00Pm, please try, because the food is fresh, cheap and very good.

25 of my friends stay on the hotel for 2.5 days, because was a holly day I think the hotel was a little overwhelmed with costumers so there for they may face some difficulties those 2 days.

About Hotel Santa Ana, I may give the next resumed points.

> Location 95%
> Customer services 78%
> Cleaning 65%
> Price 65%
> Food 40%

My next visit to Cuenca I will give another try to Santa Ana Hotel.

Room Tip: Is not view from the rooms but I do recommend to take the second floor rooms.
