Absolutely beautiful hotel located around the corner from the Yanapuma Language School. The staff was helpful and welcoming. The upstairs living room was perfect for a few hours of morning work. The food was excellent. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Room Tip: Saturday night festivities were a bit loud. The hotel might consider Saturday night ear plugs.

This is a very nicely located hotel about a block and a half from the town center; the main restaurant is romantic and we had the best fish dish we had in the country. The breakfast was also very good.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms are nice and though they are off the main restaurant, there is virtually no noise

You realize that this is an exceptional property as soon as you walk through the front door. It was almost like staying a museum. We really enjoyed the historic atmosphere which is consistent with it's convenient location just a very short walk from the Basilica. It is amazing that such a lovely property is also so reasonably priced. This is really a super value and it will be my first choice for a hotel if we make a return trip to Cuenca.

Room Tip: Only some of rooms have outside windows, which brighten the room.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the town. The Hotel is excellently situated in the centre of the town. It was easy to walk everywhere from here. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean. It was furnished with rustic furniture befitting the building. Staff were helpful and spoke good English (and understood my poor Spanish!).

The Hotel itself is a lovely old building with a courtyard centre. One overlooks the dining area from the balcony above. We ate in the Restaurant one evening and had 2 breakfasts. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. A variation of Full English was available for those with a big appetite whilst other lighter fayre was available. The evening meal was reasonable priced. We had to eat in the smaller restaurant as there was a full booking in the main dining area due to an International Conference in town.

This is a great hotel. Not your run of the mill International Bland Hotel but a building with character and history. The staff attitude reflected the standards of times past (a positive comment). I would willingly stay here again if ever I was back in Cuenca.

This small hotel is big on atmosphere and service. The location is great in the center of things, close to attractions and restaurants. East to walk, lots of street security. Breakfast room is very quaint with a good multi-course breakfast included. My absolute favorite part was the formal salon (sitting room) on the 2nd floor. I spent a couple of hours there enjoying its opulent decor and the soft background music with skillful lighting. Tip: We had a large sleeping room on the side away from the street, quiet and very nice. This is a good value. Front desk staff is a little unaware of museum hours or if the post office is open, etc. They made guesses but were wrong.
