My wife is from Guayaquil and we are on a three week tour of her home country as well as a visit to introduce the family to our 3 month old son. We stayed one night in Cuenca to get a taste for the city and decided to stay in Hotel Zahir. Check in/front desk person was incredibly accommodating and checked us into room 303. WOW! Breath-taking modern room with wall to ceiling windows overlooking downtown Cuenca. The hotel room was beautiful! And it’s only a 5-10 minute walk from the historic district.
We also tried out the restaurant for dinner. Great food and reasonable prices. Breakfast was included. My only knock is that the options when we went for breakfast about an hour before it was over were not too plentiful. Service at breakfast was a little slow but overall I’d give this hotel 5 stars!!More
