“Good place but be careful in choosing the room”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2012

When I was making reservation in Yanantin I specified that I need quite room. We stayed there 3 nights in total. First night we were located to the double room just above the reception and I didn't have good sleep: it was noisy from the street and the bell from the reception woke me up three times. Moreover this room was smaller comparing to other rooms and there was really bad smell from the bathroom. Therefore, next morning I asked for different room, quite as they promised. There was no problems to switch rooms because some people check out. I don't know what they would do if there would be no room available. The second room was really pleasant, quite and there was no smell from the bathroom. However, there was no wi-fi connection in this room.
My recommendation is to be very precise which room you want to get (definitely not the one above the reception!) or find something else for this price which was not cheap.

Room Tip: do not take room above reception

We stayed in this hotel this march. We stayed only one night after returninng from MP, and it as great. Clean and spacious room, clean bathroom. The pics on the website are acurate (which is not always the case)The staff are very helpful. Breakfast is basic but it does the trick. Walking distance from the main sq. Would come here again. Totally recomend it,

The bed was very nice - I think it is the largest I saw in my life) Room was also spacious, with beautiful furniture. It was a little bit chilly because of the stone floor, but there was a heater in the room, so in case you get too cold, you can simply turn it on.
Staff was really helpful - we had to wake up at 4 am in order to make our trip to MP, so the manager gave us some breakfast very early, which was very helpful taking into account the prices for coffee at Poroy station)
The only annoying thing was that you can hear what is happening in a room above you as if it all occurs at your place. I don't know if it is the same in the rooms on the second floor (there are only 2 floors at the hotel), but at the 1st floor we woke up at 6 in the morning because of the sounds of walking and talking.

Room Tip: Try the second floor - maybe it is quieter.

This was a great place that I would recommend if you want to relax in style in Cusco, and feel at home. The staff and Mr. Mendoza were friendly and hospitable, and helped my friends and I to plan our sightseeing and shopping around Cusco. The rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds, so nice to relax in after the 8 hour flight from the USA. The hotel is very reasonably priced, especially for what it offers!, the central location, friendly helpful staff, and comfortable accomodations, plus Wifi and a cute cafe/kitchen. We were glad to enjoy the free breakfast, complete with coca leaf tea to help adjust to the altitude in Cusco. The hotel is in the historic district, and it felt like we had stepped back in time and were staying in a colonial Spanish hacienda, right in the heart of Cusco!

The hotel is close to the Plaza and other main attractions. We were intrigued to visit the San Pedro Market, which was recommended to us by the hotel staff, what an interesting slice of Peruvian life! We can´t wait to come back again to visit this magical city, at least one more time! The food in Cusco is delicious and unique, Andean food that you cannot find anyplace else in the world. We also enjoyed the beautiful museums and walking along the Plaza de Armas, the narrow zig-zagging streets, and of course, our trip to Machu Picchu. We were pleased that Mr. Mendoza helped us to plan our trip by telling us exactly where we could go to buy the train tickets, everything, so our trip was smooth and hassle-free! Even if you do not speak much Spanish, many people speak at least some English in Cusco, and at Yanantin they speak English.

I will definitely be coming back to Yanantin, and am looking forward to spending time in Cusco again, 1 week was not long enough! There is so much to see not only in Cusco, but in the nearby Sacred Valley. What a beautiful and amazing part of the world, don´t miss it!

First and foremost it was great to have a reliable and trustworthy airport pick up arranged by Mr Mendoza - wonderful after a very long flight from the U.K.
There is nothing to complain about our stay at this Guest house/Hotel. Convenient for the airport, fairly central in Cusco with a personal service, good flexible breakfasts, clean room, hot shower and communal areas. A bit chilly and noisy, yes but nothing that wasn't solved with an extra jumper, ear plugs and a bit of extra wine! The price was more than acceptable for the personal service and walkable central location. We had no hesitation leaving some of our belongings there while we were away on the Inca Trail for four days and that the Hotel staff were happy for us to do so (we paid for the room anyway, even when we weren't using it). The most useful thing was the local advice and suggestions that Hotel staff were happy to help us with - we felt welcomed and soon felt like locals!! Thank you Yanantin, for the part you played in our wonderful trip to Cuzco.

Firstly I have to say that we loved Cusco and whatever your travel agent suggests, most people we met regretted the short time they were booked to stay in Cusco. It’s an amazing place and there is so much to see and do from here, and the food and nightlife is fantastic. The only real drawback is the price of good hotels here in the high season! Yanantin Guest House filled the gap between very expensive hotels and the common low-end, overcrowded accommodation near the plaza perfectly. It was very comfortable and provided a very authentic Cusco experience as it has been built inside a typical Cusco courtyard house in a quiet street only a few hundred metres from edge of the historic areas of Cusco. Great room, great shower (it is cold here in June, and a good hot shower makes a difference), and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

A very nice place. The kitchen area acts as a chill out area however this isn't very convienient or comformable when others around. WIFI in main area with a low signal in rooms achievable. Rooms were very good however the worst part of the stay was the 'paper thing walls' were even the operation of light switches can be heard ifrom the ajoining room. This would not be apparent in all rooms as they aren't all ajoining. Location is very convienient with only a short walk the Cusco plaza

Room Tip: Request a room that does not ajoin another.
