Hey I just want to leave this in order to warn people about our experience, we were left at the Bar waiting for someone to pick us up 3 TIMES, first this happens on Feb 17th. In our return to Lima, we decided to try it again on Thursday March 1st, that day we arrived 11.10am, but once again nobody came, we were 4 people waiting, however we thought we were late. Finally we tried again on Friday 2nd, this time we got there 10.50am, nobody came, 13 of us we were waiting until 11.30am, this time we called the mobile number provided +51 998 959 566 but they didn’t want to pick up the call, we whatsapp them and although they appeared online we had no reply. SUPER VERY IRRESPONSIBLE - UNRELIABLE

This walking tour is the worst I’ve experienced in South America. The guide, ERIK, didn’t taught me anything. It seems like he’s just telling you some highlights from Wikipedia. Superficial facts and not getting deep into the information. Furthermore, the tour was very touristic. You stop at a souvenir shop, where a lady had time to promote that her store is the cheapest (she shows you some items and tells you the price). We also went to an instrument store, and this store got promoted heavily as well. We didn’t enjoyed the tour and we decided to leave. It was our bad that we just left without saying anything to the guide. We came across him and he got really upset with us. He accused us being super disrespectful (which was the case, but he could put it into different words) and he accused us that we were the only ones that prefered an English tour, so he had to translate for us (btw- since I understand Spanish a little, I could tell that he’a not translating everything as he said in Spanish). He also sad: “THIS IS NOT A FREE TOUR”. He stayed with us until we gave him money. I think this is rude, because you pay for what its worth. For the worst walking tour in south america, it was not worth a penny.

Although advertised as free we fully expected to tip at the end but were told at the beginning that they expect a tip and to that end we were herded like sheep so you couldn't get away without tipping during the tour, parts of the tour were interesting but most was a trail from one business to another to promote restaurants, gift shops and at the end a bar with a "free drink" at which point the tour ended and a transparent box came out so they could see how much you tipped.

Our tour guide was Diego V. and I can't imagine a more well-informed and wonderful tour guide. He amazed us with facts I would otherwise have never known about Cuzco and really made the history come alive. He also had a wonderful personality and you could tell he was truly passionate about the city and it's culture. All the stops were interesting and informative and the whole group had a good time. I fell in love with Cuzco after seeing it through a local's eyes! Thanks Diego :)

Marco's tour is amazing. He is so knowledgeable and he's such a good story teller! He injects cusco with a life and soul you would simply miss out on if you walked round the city by yourself. Definitely take this tour! You don't have to take my word for it ... ask the two lovely and gentle street dogs that take the tour every day just so they can hang out with Marco! So adorable!
