It's a cosy, homey guest house with a courtyard, 7 minutes walk to Plaza de Armas (central square), and even closer to San Blas, the artistic area. We had a tree growing into the bathroom! The room is a good size, with fantastic view and a kitchenette. Good breakfast on the roof top, with fruit, freshly made juice, bread, butter & jam, and eggs. The only thing that can be improved is the shower. The water pressure is low and we had difficulties controlling the temperature. Hot water can suddenly turned cold.
We are a couple in our 60's and stayed at Casa de Mama in Cuzco. Our room, "Leo" was like a birds nest in the sky. It was all glass windows and looked out over Cuzco. It was on a quiet street..of course with stairs, that is how Cuzco is. For the first few days we puffed our way to the apt but after the 3rd day we were bounding up the stairs. It was also near our all time favorite restaurant, Green Point. Fab.
We did use our heater at night to take off the chill. This is a funky place with a Peruvian shower (hot water and water pressure is variable all over Peru) Carmen was a super person and helped with anything we needed, including an early morning taxi to the airport. The breakfast area was also all windows and fun to view the city from. This place is not for everyone. Don't look too closely, just enjoy your time there. PS there is not sign for Casa De Mama It is a wooden door #539 Carmen met us at the door. Mercedes was very good at communicating with setting up the rental.

This was a great experience. Senora Aguilar was incredibly helpful, from helping to identify restaurants, picking us up at the airport (even though our flight was delayed) and helping us book a tour of the Sacred Valley. The staff onsite, Carmen, is lovely and helpful. She speaks only Spanish but easily found ways to communicate with guests who did not speak Spanish. The rooms were so unique in character, we had 3 for our group and it was fun to see how each was different. They were all clean and came equipped with a few kitchen utensils that we used to prepare lunches and one dinner. Having the small frig, sink, microwave and gas burners was very convenient. The location was perfect, we were within easy walking distance from everything we wanted to see within Cusco itself. However, the best part was that our room had a fabulous view of the city and on New year's eve we were able to watch the fireworks late into the night, which was just wonderful. Thank you for a fantastic visit!
