It is really a mystery that Hervé Bistro does not have more customers. (2 tables occupied when i went there for lunch). But I guess people want to try the peruvian cuisine and not the french while being in Lima - or living in Lima. That is a huge mistake! Hervé bistro is a restaurant with love to the food. Its not just about misxing a ceviche "the way abuela used to do it" - its about finding the best ingredients and mix them with love to the food and happily present it to the customer.
I had a wonderful starter - 2 eggs poached in a red wine sauce - aboslutely brilliant. A real surprise. Main course - Duck a L'Orange. Heaven opened its gates!!! Wonderful. 2 minisouffles for dessert. Perfect end of a good lunch.
Hervé Bistro is nicely decorated. Soft music in the background. Staff who know their work. An owner taking time to greet customers and thank them for coming.
Can it get better?
