Having been to so many of their hotels in Peru, it's hard for me to consider another place to stay than a Tierra Viva unit - this time I decided to try one of theirs in Lima and was by no means disappointed.
Location is excellent, right by very busy Larco Avenue in Miraflores, yet away enough from the noise.
Reception does have a special modern touch, along with cultural local ties with the alpaca fabric as decoration. They are all most kind and helpful behind the desk, also at the terrace for breakfast, which is indeed basic but it's unlikely you get to miss something.
Rooms are ample enough, there are few per floor, and internet coverage is also very good!
What I miss are windows, one feels trapped in a bunker, though one side of the building has no obstacle at all and some windows could be opened, and despite the very nice narrow atrium with a hanging garden.
That adds one special component engineers didn't consider: the air is trapped inside the building and sounds travel in loops indoors, which makes ALL noises hearable and loud!! Depending on the politeness of neighbours, one can hear everything they say and every door closing/slamming, not nice at 6am already!! I wonder if there'd be a solution for that...
Anyway, the place is great and does deserve a long stay!More
