We were wandering away from our hotel in Miraflores and stumbled upon this place. It was full, but most diners seemed to be tourists. We briefly debated continuing on our way but then decided we could wander all night, and the menu looked good so why not try it.
Alfresco is on the expensive side - for three people, the total came to about 390 soles (US$145), including a bottle of great Peruvian wine, but the food was delicious start to finish. Little crunchy roasted corn kernels are put on the table to munch on while you read the table. Be careful - these are addictive and you could easily down the whole bowl before you have a bite of real food. Fresh bread with chive butter comes next. We had two ceviches as appetizers - huge portions, but we finished both. The one with coriander sauce is particularly recommended. We all had seafood for main courses - one colleauge had flounder in 3-mushroom sauce. He licked the plate clean. I had rare tuna steak encrusted in pepper - perfectly cooked. Another colleague had seafood soup, and was very pleased.
We couldn't make it to dessert, but the menu looked promising. Service was kind and attentive, atmosphere very nice - busy but quiet enough we could hear each other speak.
This place was a very pleasant surprise, highly recommended.
