We stayed there for three nights. This town is by far the best we've visit in the Sacred vallee (- Machu Pichu). I would stay there again for 2-3 nights. Very well situated.

The staff was welcoming and helpfull (we had so many questions for them!).

Make sure to start your heater before sleep. It gets cold at night (september).

Room Tip: Ask for room 16. Best view ever!

One of the best places I stayed around the world at unbelievable price.
First class hospitality, first class beds and the best bedding.
Picturesque settings, every corner a surprise garden, Many sitting areas, and to relax after a long day the primitive eucalyptus sauna is a must.
Close to the town center and the rail station at your footstep
Best time to visit the area January till 1st week June

I 'm gonna go all out and say that this hotel, it's staff and location were hands down the best we experienced in PERU.

The hotel is the only hotel directly on the train station which we thought would be an annoyance but on the contrary became the highlight of our trip ( we didn't hear the train even once from our room). We had originally booked only one night but ended up extending our an as we could not get enough. The staff (specifically Jennifer) will not refuse you anything and will go out of their way to make sure you are completely happy.

After our long day in Machu Pichu we carelessly realized we had nowhere to go eat (everything is pretty much closed in ollantaytambo by 10pm)the staff quickly went to the kitchen and fixed us up some sandwiches and fruits (at no charge).

In the evenings we sat by the railroad and watched people get off the train as we downed happy hour Pisco Sours and met some very interesting travelers of all ages. The hotel is lush with fruit trees and flowers with a hammocks to relax on during the day and plenty of places to take photos.

I cannot stress enough the greatness of this location. I've traveled around the world and when it comes to uniqueness of experience this place is at the top. I would gladly move in and live their in a heart beat ;)

We chose this hotel because of its location and reviews on Trip Advisor and it turned out to be better than expected. We had arranged collection from the airport and the driver couldn't get into the airport due to a strike, but after a quick call to the hotel, we found him and enjoyed the drive to the hotel.

We choose to go for the Superior room (#16) that was on the second floor and away from the train tracks. We had a lovely balcony and could lie in the huge, comfortable bed and look up to the snow capped mountains further up the valley. The room was clean and had a lovely rustic feel about it, with exposed roof beams. The toilet was quite large and we always had plenty of hot water. Bottled water was provided each day, free of charge and there was a fridge. Train noise at the room was limited to a low rumble and the odd horn. The free WiFi was reliable and fast and available throughout the hotel and in the room.

We ate in the Restuarant twice and it was superb, and there is also a nice Cafe on the platform and had tea in the garden one afternoon. You can visit the farm if you wish by arranging it though reception and you can refill your water bottles from a water cooler in reception for 2 soles per litre, which is really useful. More hotels could do to offer this service.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the railway which is great and makes it easy for getting to Machu Pichu which is only 1.5 hrs away. This also allowed us to get a full day there, getting the 07:30 hrs train. It was really good 12 hrs later to be able to be in our room, 2 minutes after getting off the train.

It is a 10 minute walk uphill to the centre of Ollantaytambo, a bit dark at night, but we did not feel unsafe. The staff were superb, friendly and helpful and to be honest we are surprised by some recent reviews stating otherwise. They could not have been more helpful to us.

Overall a great hotel, great food, lovely staff and to finish it off, my bill was correct at check out. We would recommend this hotel, and spend a little extra and get the superior room.

A very good place to stay for a family. We stayed there for a few nights in preparation of seeing Machu Picchu and this was a first class place to stay.

For a family with two young children (6&4) this was ideal for us. The hotel grounds were relaxing and pleasant to the eye, and a great place to see some humming birds (if only they wern't so noisy)

The room suited us with a double and two single beds. Breakfast was ideal for two fussy children, as all tastes were catered for. Dinner was available at a reasonable time (1830) which meant that there were no late nights for the children to get over tired.

Okay there were drawbacks, hot water is solar powered, so if you wanted a hot shower you had to wait until late afternoon, but this was not insurmountable. The dawn chorus was a bit deafening, but still enjoyable.

Advantages, being on the train platform was unusual, but this meant that access was controlled bu the station security. The restuarant and attached cafe were great, and the hotel is prepared to store luggage if required when moving on to Machu Picchu/Agues Caliantes. They also arrange transport for us to and from Cusco at a very reasonable price.

Would I stay there again? definitely!

we arrived here after doing the Inca trail, and all three of us were thoroughly exhausted and in desperate need of a shower and clean clothes. We had had our suitcases dropped off for us by our inca trail tour operators, (SAS) before setting off 4 days previously, and it was wonderful to arrive at el auberge to find them waiting for us.
The hotel was absolutely fabulous. Clean, beautifully decorated, and welcoming. Our room was overlooking the railway track (room 3) . This may not suit everyone, - it was a bit noisy, but we loved it and enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle on the platform. The sheets were clean, white and crisp, - really appreciated after 3 nights in a tent, and the shower was hot. The traditional sauna was also great - a little hut which was prepared for us with eucalyptus leaves. The garden is enchanting, and there were a number of humming birds.
We had a pisco sour the two nights we stayed there, then a lovely meal in the restaurant. All the staff were really friendly and helpful

All in all, we thought this was the best hotel we stayed in on our trip to peru - thoroughly recommended.

What a GREAT spot! Can't say enough good things about this place My room (#12) has a great balcony/patio, views of the property, plenty of space inside, desk, small sitting area, and an incredibly comfortable bed. The bathroom is authentic (real stone sink) and the shower heated up very quickly. I had trouble purchasing my tickets to Machu Picchu, and the staff was more than accommodating to get that taken care of for me (special thanks to Natalia for putting up with all my emails and questions). They were knowledgeable about the area, where to eat, what to see, and how to handle the PeruRail experience. The food was absolutely incredible -- complimentary breakfast each day, very reasonably priced dinner (for an organic/local/upscale location) and they had quite the variety to choose from. Would without a doubt recommend this to anyone staying in Ollanta, and am looking forward to returning in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms are large! I travelled alone, and picked a larger room with a balcony to get a good view of th...
