We stayed a night before heading to Plantation Island and again before leaving the country. It was great:, kids enjoyed the pool, I enjoyed the day spa. :) We didnt leave the resort and it was easy access to airport route, not out of the way.

If you would like your room to be serviced whilst staying at the Tanoa International Hotel, the sign 'service room' hangs on the door knob inside the room. So if you're a clean freak who wants the room done up when you next walk in, don't forget to hang the sign outside on the door knob of course!

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side are closer to the pool and you can listen to the serenading of the band when you're in the room.

We stayed here in November 2014, Affter a 3 week holiday in Fiji. We were with friends, who raved about the Tanoa. And stay here every year before & after being on one of the outer islands.
We received a nice greeting at reception, then we were sent off to our rooms. Our room ( in the 400's) was the furthest point in the complex from the pool & restaurant area.
Upon unlocking our room, we found the room was already occupied by someone (all their belongings were spread around the room) We locked up quickly and headed back to the reception area. We met the receptionist coming to find us, apologizing a mistake had been made. At this point the receptionist tried to put us back in another 400's room.
I requested a room closer to the pool & restaurant area, we were shown a room just around the corner from the common areas, and only a few doors down from our friends.
We cooled down in the pool, which was very small, but deep enough.
It was roast dinner special night (very well priced) and a buffet we discovered upon entering the restaurant. In the carvery area there were 3 choices of meat, and you were offered all 3 meats for your plate, desert was inclusive (the meal was very nice and restaurant staff lovely)
Breakfast was again a great price ( under $20.00) for a buffet
Our room was on the small side and a little dark. The shower was over the bath which had rather high sides making it a bit difficult to get in and of ( especially if vertically challenged, as I am) if you were elderly it would not be suitable (we're mid 50's)
We have been coming to Fiji for several years now, I've stayed at a few different hotels over night in Fiji (before and after flights) and have found other hotels more to my liking.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room in the 400's

This is a good airport hotel with the usual amenities. My only real complaint was weak wifi in our room - regular drop-outs and often almost impossible to restart a connection. But, it worked well in the foyer / bar area. Several other people were using laptops in the common areas so I presume they also had connection problems in their rooms. The hotel shuttle was efficient and met all flights (as advertised) - but don't dawdle after collecting bags as the driver may leave before before everyone is out of the airport.. Taxi from airport to hotel is FJD6. There is a Westpac ATM in the hotel. Breakfast buffet vouchers are sold at a discount when checking in ( FJD 20 ) - otherwise it's about FJD28 for the full buffet or FJD21 for continental.

Visited last night for a bite to eat, it just so happened it was curry night in the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent all round really. Back next week for sure!

Whilst we didn't stay over night yesterday, we have in the past and it was a great.
