Every time we're in Tahiti we make sure not to miss the market. Downstairs are mostly the food and veggie/fruit vendors (get your coconut soaps and vanilla here), upstairs you can buy souvenirs including black pearls. There is also a fantastic juice bar upstairs. Always a colorful experience.

We were here very early in the morning (maybe even before 7 am) after an overnight flight. We were pleasantly surprised at the presentation of the oatmeals. The juice that came with it was freshly squeezed orange juice and was so delicious - the best we've ever had even! It was a quiet colorful place to spend the early hours of our morning and to start our Tahitian adventure.

Nice place to stroll, look around for native arts and crafts, produce and fruits, fish & meats and pre-packaged Tahitian foods. I admired watching ladies make leis and head pieces with fresh flowers. Spend about 30-45 min or more if you choose to eat at Cafe Maeva. We did not,for we just had breakfast from our flight

This is an open air market that is selling food and clothing as well as cheap souvenirs. Some vendors are selling hand made items that you can watch them create. This is a great place to go if you are in Papeete,.
