Many people say this a Soviet style hotel but I don't think so. It's a medium sized, nicely renovated, efficient hotel in a very good location. The room and the bathroom were comfortable and in a good condition. The huge breakfast room is sure old fashioned, but breakfast was very good with salmon and cottage cheese pancakes among many other things. Staff are efficient and they're reasonably but certainly not very friendly. There is a doorman but he never looks or smiles at the guests, and he never says hello. The main negative thing is that the hotel is on a main road with a lot of traffic. The windows are soundproof, which is good, but if you prefer to sleep with the windows open you'll get a lot of outside nose. I asked to get a room facing the courtyard for my second night which was only slightly better as the courtyard has a loud unit (probably for the air conditioning) the size of a small building which makes a less intrusive but permanent noise.

Room tip: Ask for a courtyard room

Don't expect a western style flash hotel, this is genuine communist style: austere dining room (they collect used dishes in an old shopping trolley!!) and doorman who look like they're bouncers (perhaps they were!!)
On the other hand astonishing room service that you would dream about in the USA : we had booked a twin room but it was made up as a double; reception "it will be sorted" by the time we got to the room the maid was already in and indeed it was sorted.
Room safe was stuck : phoned reception and seconds later a knock on the door - sorted again!
Worth noting that although austere, the decoration was in top condition throughout.
As everyone notes it is central , if staying go to "the pub"1 block away and order the pigs ears - an experience in itself.

Very nice hotel. Especially Anastasia is very helpful smiling face staff in reception point. Location is wonderful. Comfortable beds. Only one negative thing is most of the guest are alone and man. When we come the hotel with my wife, security man asked us the room key. Then can find a solution for this.

Room tip: Prefer even numbered rooms for better view

We stayed 4 Nights at the Minsk Hotel, and found the Place to be quite good. The room are spacious and clean (they clean every day). The beds are fine, the toilet room is well equiped.
The staff is very friendly, but their English could have been a little improved. It's in the center, only 10 minutes from the Central station, and 15 minutes from the Liberty square. There are a lot of good restaurant in the surrounding. We had booked the rooms without breakfast, and to a good price. For shoppers there is a underground mall at the Republic square, next to the hotel.
But be aware, breakfast is as costy as the room. We payed 58 Rubels for a breakfast for two persons, equivalen to a full dinner with drink and tips in a good restaurant. You can have a good breakfast for less than half of that price if you go outside the hotel.
If you og by car, the hotel has a free parking lot at the rear.

Room tip: If you want a quiet room, ask for a room to the rear of the buoiding

I have booked this hotel for my friends from Europe. The location is good. Convinient parking area. My friends live in the center of Minsk (Nezalezhnosti Prospect), 2 minutes from the shopping center "Stolica". 10 minutes from reilway station. The room rate is good; The rooms are warm and clean. I helped make friens the invitation to Belatus, so I booked this hotel by myself.
