Had the good fortune to try this restaurant while in Kiev and glad we did. We almost walked past this establishment, as the sign and entrance were a bit odd. We, thankfully, took a chance and entered, only to find a great little establishment with some really tasty Ukrainian options on the menu. Whether it was the appetizers, the soup, or the main course, we were not disappointed.

You start the evening with a little aperitif at the door, while handing your coats to the greeter. The inside has a quirky layout with a mixture of table designs and sizes. The overall decor is fun and bright.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our spoke English quite well, although she was willing to allow us to practice our poor Russian from time to time. The menu had a great selection of dishes, all reasonably priced, with "just right" portion sizes. Nothing felt too large or over-the-top, which allowed us to pick numerous menu items to sample. They have some fun artwork on the walls, which they also sell on t-shirts and other trinkets.

Overall, we had a great mixture of Ukrainian dishes, drinks, and even a digestif with sorbet to end the evening. The bill was very reasonable for the amount of food we ate and we definitely felt like we had eaten enough. If you are looking for a fun, nice, quirky establishment to have some great dishes, you should definitely give this restaurant a try.

The food itself was nice, but it does not match the price. We tried chicken kiev and ukrainian borsch, but 2 eur for greasy potatoes with your chicken? Also, when we were paying, we asked if we can leave some tips paying with card because we did not have any cash, unfortunately, we couldn't. So after that we had some complaints from our waiter... Not the most pleasant experience...

We went there without reservation, it was our second attempt as the first time we arrived at 11.30pm and the kitchen was closing. The service was highly professional and the food was really good. Unfortunately several items from the menu were not available and were not able to try the chicken kiev. The suggestion of the amount of tip to leave on the bill was a little strange as there was three suggested percentages. Nevertheless, this restaurant is a touristic must in Kiev.

I tried typical vareniki and Ucrainian fish and chips, with Georgian wine. Everything was really good and price very low compared to what I would have spent in Milan, just for example. To be tried while in Kiev.
