I stayed at Las Clementinas Hotel for one night. I liked the historic touches that were in the room including exposed brick, an antique bureau, and lots of large windows that opened.

The AC works very well, but I did notice that there was a slight odor that came out of the vent when it kicked on. No big deal; I think there's just a lot of moisture in Panama City from the humidity.

They had in-room coffee and it wasn't (thank goodness) a Keurig. I just made a small pot to start my day.

One nice touch is that the front desk gave me a card to use for a small discount at a nearby restaurant for breakfast.

Location wise, it is very central in the Casco Viejo. Easy to get in and out of in an Uber and walkable to all of the restaurants.

Hope to visit Las Clementinas again soon!

Frustrated from a nearly five hour flight delay on our last night in Panama City. We walked through the doors of this hotel set just steps away from the nightlife epicenter of the old quarter, and immediately regained our energy and glow from an amazing vacation.

Greeted by a smiling face, our concierge received us with laughter, energy and excitement. The check-in area was a bit small and seemed cramped. However, the service we received within the first 5 minutes seemed to create an illusion of more space.

We were given a tour of the hotel amenities which is a combination of chic, elegance and old world Colonial Spain all set in a garden. The rooms are what you would imagine. Very tall ceilings, spacious and cozy with a touch of lEuropean flair. The bathroom are spacious with beautiful Mediterranean and Colonial inspired tiled showers.

This room in particular overlooked the poorer side of the street. However, I wouldn't change the view because it was a look into the truest parts of the city. Safety was never a concern!

The hotel is also connected to a restaurant/bar and micro-brewery, Casa Bruja. It boasts of locally made beer. My friends, these guys are making beautiful beer in Panama.

Overall, a beautiful stay!

This hotel is gorgeous. We stayed in one of the small rooms and loved the beautifully designed details: tiled shower, hip furniture, very comfortable bed, and plenty of space. Outside are several unique courtyards and terraces all surrounded by plants with comfortable furniture. We loved getting a beer at the awesome Casa Brujas Brewery downstairs and sitting on the terrace looking at the plants and listening to chill music at the end of an evening out in Casco Viejo. The location of course is perfect, walking distance to everything you want to see in Casco Viejo and an easy Uber to other places. The hotel staff were helpful with recommendations; they give you a map of cool restaurants and bars plus a map and guide for a walking tour of Casco Viejo.

About that noise issue other reviews mention - noise did not bother us, even though we stayed over the weekend. Yes, the folks across the street from our room partied at night, but all of Casco Viejo is lively and that's why we stayed there. We loved the energy and being in the middle of it all.

Dear JESSICA K, Thank you for your thoughtful review of us. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay and Casa Bruja beers, we like them very much ourselves. We definitely agree that Las Clementinas makes a great base camp from which to explore Casco. We are very sorry about the noisy neighbors -- they can be a little unruly on the weekends. Some people enjoy the experience as yourself, but others do not.

We LOVED this hotel. Our first night was spent here before we headed to explore other areas of Panama. Original plans were to stay at a luxury hotel closer to the airport on our last night, but we cancelled and elected to stay here again.
The first room we stayed in (room 1) was HUGE. Basically an apartment with every amenity needed. We had a balcony off the main room, and a balcony off the bedroom. The kitchen had a large refrigerator, coffee maker, complimentary bottled water, glassware, and microwave. There was a dining room table, couch, and high ceilings with ceiling fans. AC worked wonderfully. Bathroom had a walk-in shower with beautiful tiling and came stocked with plenty of toiletries. The decor was modern but classic Casco Viejo with beautiful antiques including lovely photography books placed around the apartment. They leave a journal for guests to write in; leaving their recommendations for other visitors.
Our second stay was in room 8- smaller but still spacious- ceilings were sky-high. We had a balcony, and a cute kitchenette area stocked with the essentials. Bathroom was a bit tight for the two of us when getting ready, but doable. Closet came with plenty of hangers (a rarity) and an ironing board. The best part of this room was being able to walk right out the door onto the back sundeck area. There are tables and sun loungers and lime trees and lots of privacy. We bought diet coke, local rum plucked a fresh lime and enjoyed drinks on this sundeck during our last afternoon in Panama. It was divine.
Along with the sundeck- head right up the stairwell to the top floor- the roof deck. It has the BEST views in the city. We had gone to a nearby rooftop bar and Las Clementinas still has a better view. There is seating and lighting up there- it is pretty hot during the day- but at night it is the perfect spot to bring a beverage from your room and take in the view.
Las Clementinas overall- great location, walking distance to the excellent restaurants/bars (Donde Jose, Calliope, Strangers Club, Tantalo) safe (police station literally across the street) and you can only enter the building with your key. It is a lovely setting with the garden area, rooftop, sundeck. Service is great- some staff speaks limited english but will go out of their way to assist you. Also has it's own attached beer garden/restaurant with great AC and a wonderful beer list.

Noise: Yes, there is noise. There is a neighborhood right outside one side of the hotel. We were not there during "busy" nights, but the nights we were there, it stayed a bit noisy until about 10PM. Room 8 was noisier than Room 1- Room 1 had the bedroom more towards the back. The Casco Viejo area is also known to "party" so many bars stay open late with DJs and music into the evening- there were places with DJs on a Monday night. So you have to be prepared for that going in. I recommend putting your fan on high, AC on, wear earplugs, or use "white noise" on your phone.
We found Casco Viejo very unique and fascinating and this was a perfect spot to stay as we explored.

Room Tip: Room 1 had a quiet bedroom.
