Description: Ventuno is an island restaurant inspired by the frascas of Italy, small farmhouses which opened themselves up to friends and neighbors with wine and homemade food. Executive Chefs Gabriel Frasca and Amanda Lydon, with Chef De Cuisine Andrea Solimeo, delight in imagining Nantucket shellfish, fish and produce in Italian hands. House-cut pasta and simple takes on the bounty of sea and land are complemented by a carefully curated Italian wine list. Drink and eat our entire menu on either dining room floor or bar, or the open-air back bar, with comfortable service and the inviting breeze of the ocean.

While this restaurant is more expensive than most in town, it is worth it. The chef improved on nature's delicious oysters by adding grapefruit ice, just a touch. Excellent idea. The striped bass was superbly prepared and presented. Perfectly cooked. I was particularly impressed by the selections of wines by the glass that featured the best producers from northern Italy. The wine list has obviously been put together by someone who knows Italian wine.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to visit Nantucket during Restaurant Week. We took advantage of the $48 dinner meal deal. I enjoyed my salad, ribeye steak, and pistachio cake with a nice bottle of wine. Our server Katie was friendly and helpful. Be aware that a 2% fee for the kitchen is included in the final bill.

Great meal at Ventuno. Food was inventive and really good. Lots of fresh seafood. We went during Fall Restaurant week -- what a steal. Loved it. Romantic atmosphere.

We've been going to this location for 30 years---from the days of 21 Federal to now Ventuno (21 in Italian) to celebrate a birthday every year. 21 Federal was truly special, but Ventuno fills in fairly well, predictably (a very similar menu every year), if not terribly creatively. Appetizers, entrees and desserts are reasonably and reliably good. But it's the atmosphere -- a cozy, history-filled collection of small candlelit rooms---that keeps us going back, wouldn't miss this bit of yearly family tradition. The service is adequate, sometimes uneven--and this last year we had an unfortunate experience. The Primi (pasta dishes) can be served in either half, or double portions if desired as the entree. There was a special pasta of the evening with lobster that one of us ordered, and i suppose we could be faulted for not asking the price but since everything else in the Primi section was $19 half/$36 double, we didn't suspect that the price of the special was actually double that and our server helpfully suggested that the double portion would be good, but never mentioned the price. It was good, but definitely not worth $64 (and more than any other single entree.
Overall, Ventuno is a solid experience, if not a great value.

The food and atmosphere were wonderful but our server Abber was the best. Her recommendations were all excellent. She was very knowledgable about the menu and specials. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.
