Description: Oran Mor Bistro is located up a flight of copper stairs in an historic Nantucket home. The restaurant has an intimate bar and three dining rooms with attractive earth-toned decor that are a warm prelude to delicious, beautifully prepared food. The bar radiates warmth of the past with its wide plank flooring, pen and ink bar top and gaff-rigged wine glass racks. Oran Mor features handcrafted cocktails from the freshest ingredients, house infusions and specialty spirits. The wine list predominantly features wines from France, small American producers as well as a travelogue of wines from around the world. Oran Mor Bistro is owned by Chef Edwin Claflin. The cooking style is one of inspired simplicity; each ingredient complements one another to create a unique, savory dish. The evolving and innovative menu is derived from the changing seasons and their bountiful offerings. Showcasing native seafood, fresh local produce and naturally raised meats from select farms.

Always a top fav and always seem to make new friends at the bar! The food is divine and the setting so nantucket. A must stop while in Ack!

Went to this highly acclaimed restaurant for our first night on the island. Town was crazy as it was a Saturday night during peak season. Service was good. Food preparations were very different and interesting. The foie gras appetizer was small and expensive but very tasty. It included an apricot mini-croissant which was quite unusual.
I had the duck which was, again, a little small but very tasty. The halibut entree was eaten by several members of our family who said it was quite tasty.
Good food that is a little pricey but what isn't pricey on Nantucket in August???

Always love this place. We like to sit at the bar and graze. Jon at the front of the house is always welcoming and they have a great menu. Could have ordered almost everything. We had the pea salad, the special duck carbonara (delish) and the beef duo. The couple next to us had the caviar with thinly sliced scallops instead of blinis. That looked great and is on my list for next time. You can't go wrong here.

Going through front door you head upstairs to second floor. Nice inside with upscale feel and sparkling clean glassware. Attentive service. Be aware you are on Nantucket and nothing is inexpensive. One appetizer, 2 entrees and a bottle of wine was $180
Portions small as I left hungry but truthfully the quality was outrageously high and the 2 seafood entrees melted in our mouths. Romantic atmosphere and a place to go if you want to enjoy a delicious upscale dinner. We skipped dessert to hit a bar! If you found this review helpful give me a vote. I tell you the ways things truly are.
