Quite an interesting staying: We arrived to the reserved three bedroom suite and found that it had the breakfast buffet area right in front - we wanted some time to rest!. We ask the staff to have the opportunity to change rooms and they were extremely helpful and accommodating: They gave us an excellent spacious three bedroom suite right in front of two gardens!!!
The hotel is in excellent location, we were able to walk back and forth with ease. I was staying with my two children and I found this very useful. It is also very safe. They lock the entrance at 9:00 pm and they have staff to open and close 24 hours/day. We felt very safe inside the hotel.
They provide coffee of good quality 24 hours and drinking water everywhere and some points with eco-filter; something we greatly appreciated. We had breakfast there the first day and found it with a complete selection of local breakfast style. Only my daughter was disappointed of not having her usual strawberry jam. They have a toaster available and this was a very homely and helpful touch.
They also have a PC available for the guests - extremely helpful as we did not travel with the laptops.
Our bedroom was quite comfortable in a modest way and we were able to relax and leave the door open while inside without having lack of privacy. Our bathroom was spacious. The only thing lacking was tables to put the luggage and a small wardrobe.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We certainly would come to this hotel.
I would not mind my children staying by their own with friends at this hotel. It has beautiful green areas, seating areas everywhere, is a large property where one does not feel constrain, it has staff on the desk 24 hours/day and it is very clean with hot water the 24 hours.
It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is very well located and provided for the cost. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: It is better to have bedrooms in the back part of the property as they are away from the breakfast a...

Friendly, helpful staff. great location, simple but charming accomodations.

This 2.5 star level hotel is very well situated one block from the Central Park. The hotel is attractively and traditionally decorated. The staff is very warm and helpful. I would definetly return to and recommend Casa Antigua.

This hotel has a superb location right in the heart of Antigua, near the main square and the famous arco, with plenty of eating and drinking places nearby. It is in a charming old colonial building. There is antique furniture and pictures in the walkways, and breakfast is served in the front courtyard, where we spotted hummingbirds. There are other garden areas to sit in as well. One of the best parts of the hotel, for us, was the spiral stairway that leads up to the lovely roof terrace, where you can see the volcano right beside you. It's towards the back of the hotel, so don't miss it! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the shop is great to look through. Water and coffee are provided. You need to be aware that no shampoo or shower cream is provided - just soap. We found this in every mid-range hotel we stayed at in Guatemala, so it must be the norm. We recommend the Casa Antigua and will return.

Room Tip: We were given Room 6, which had a double bed and a single bed (which we didn't need), but very l...

Great location, beautiful colonial setting full of amazing antiquities, excellent and complete breakfast, clean rooms, a great gift shop, hot water and a spiral staircase to an amazing view from the roof. What more could one ask for? A great staff? They have that as well, knowledgeable, helpful and consderate.

I have stayed in 4 hotels during the last four years in Antigua and Hotel Casa Antigua and its staff have been the best by far for me.

This is our 4th visit to Guatemala and Antigua and we have tried other hotels and we keep coming back to Casa Antigua. It is centrally located just around the corner from the central park. The staff is friendly, helpful and courtesy. We love to visit the adjoining Mayan Boutique for great gifts at a good value where you can also arrange a visit to nearby San Antonio and see and experience first hand back-strap weaving and coffee making.

This hotel is an old historic colonial house that has been re-stored and up-dated into a very nice hotel with lush gardens and modern conviences like wifi and hot showers. You can enjoy your morning breakfast in the gardens by one of their fountains then head out to visit beautiful Antigua.

It is always a pleasure staying here and I am sure you will love it too!
